Lucy had stayed with the team for about ten minutes, before they had to finally go start working on the new case. Lucy had taken Roxy and was now on her way back home. She had decided to take the public transport so Luke would have the car here at the bureau whenever they would come back from the case. It was one that they had to solve close to the city, so Luke had assured her to come home if they would be able to come along with the case.
While Lucy sat in the bus that would bring her home to Luke's apartment, she couldn't get Spencer out of her head. Of course, they had only talked for a few minutes, but she couldn't deny that he looked ridiculously good. His face had remembered her of some Greek god and although he seemed to be a bit shy, Lucy thought that especially his shyness was cute.
She shook her head as if she could get rid of these thoughts that way. No, she didn't have the time to develop feelings for someone – and Spencer was one of Luke's colleagues and friends! There was no way she could start having feelings for him. And besides that, she didn't even know him. God, she had seen him just once! She shook off those thoughts and left the bus, with Roxy by her side.
I might just go and buy some food so I can cook a nice dinner for me and Luke, Lucy thought as she passed a supermarket. She liked to cook and doing something good for her brother was the least she could do. He let her live in his apartment and she was so thankful for that, she didn't even know how to pay it back. He took care of her and had always been there for her all her life. To cook his favorite food would be a pleasure for Lucy.
Coming home with two paper bags filled with groceries, Lucy placed them in the kitchen before she went into her room to put on some comfortable sweatpants and an old shirt. On her way back to the kitchen, she grabbed her iPhone and scrolled through her playlists until she found one she felt like listening to right now. It was a mix of Green Day and Kelly Clarkson. Dancing and singing along, Lucy started to prepare the lasagna she would make for dinner.
"No, you won't get anything, dear", Lucy said as she realized that Roxy had come into the kitchen and now was laying on the ground right next to her feet. Lucy chuckled at the dog that looked up to her as if she wanted to say: Please let fall some food so I can steal it.
With Roxy not leaving her side, Lucy prepared the lasagna and from time to time, she let fall a bit of minced meat which Roxy gratefully ate. She couldn't bear to look into the dog's begging eyes so she would treat her with some pieces. "Just don't tell my brother", Lucy said with a smirk on her lips and Roxy barked as if she would reply with a yes.

It was almost eight in the evening, when Lucy heard the front door open. Luke had sent her a message about an hour ago to tell her that he'd come home over night. They hadn't solved the case yet but since it took place here in D.C., Emily had let her team go home to get some hours of sleep. Lucy felt relieved; she had already been afraid that she'd made that lasagna for nothing.
"Hmmm, it smells delicious", Luke said as soon as he had entered the apartment. Lucy grinned.
"Of course, it is. I've made mom's famous lasagna", she chuckled while she watched Roxy jumping up and down in front of Luke. It was obvious that she was all happy to see her favorite human being.
"I can't wait to eat it! Is it okay if I go and take a shower first before we'll eat?" His brown eyes were looking at Lucy expectantly. She nodded.
"Sure. The lasagna won't be ready for another fifteen minutes anyway", she replied before she buried her face back into the book she was currently reading. Apart from preparing the dinner, Lucy had spent her day with taking a walk or two with Roxy and then just sat on the couch reading. It was one of her favorite things and she would always love that books could take her thoughts and imagination somewhere else.
Luke came from the bathroom fifteen minutes later and they could finally eat. "Wow, that's amazing", Luke complimented as soon as he had taken a bite of the lasagna.
Lucy smirked and then tried as well. "Not bad. But...yours is better", she stated with a shrug.
"You think so? Yours is amazing!", Luke said while he continued eating. Lucy didn't reply to that but was happy that he liked her dinner. She hadn't had a lot of opportunities to make that Lasagna yet and had been a bit afraid if it would turn out any good.
For a while, silence fell over the siblings while they ate. "Luke?", Lucy suddenly said and he looked up.
"Yeah?"
"Why...did the team look at Spencer in such a surprise when he shook my hand this morning?", she asked curiously and when a little smile appeared on Luke's face, she had to hold back a sigh. Oh, of course. He was her brother and he was a profiler. He had heard the tone in which she had asked that question. Her voice had been some octaves higher because yes, she hadn't been able to get that young agent out of her mind completely all day long, no matter how hard she had tried. And she was sure, Luke had seen that she found his collague interesting from the first moment on.
"Spencer usually doesn't shake hands. He mostly just waves at people awkwardly to greet them", Luke explained. "Why you're asking?"
"Well, I just noticed that you were all surprised by his behavior and I was wondering why", Lucy simply said and tried to avoid looking at her brother.
"Aaah, you find him interesting", Luke chuckled and Lucy rolled her eyes at him.
"Why you think that? Just because I asked one simple question?", she snapped, feeling a bit caught. Yes, she thought Spencer was interesting but there was no need for her brother to know about that. But he already did, of course.
"Yes, you usually don't talk about guys you just met. And...you can feel special when Spencer Reid shakes your hand", Luke said with a huge grin on his face.
"Alright, Mister Profiler." Lucy put her plate aside and placed her chin in her hands. "If you know so much, then tell me something about Spencer", she demanded. She really wanted to know more about Spencer and it surprised her that she found him that interesting after meeting him for only a few minutes. Maybe you're going crazy now, she thought to herself.
"What did you mean when you called him a genius? What kind of genius is he?", she asked. That was something she really wanted to know.
Luke chuckled. "He's incredibly intelligent. He knows facts about literally everything and he's the fastest reader I know. Even faster than you." The grin on his face made Lucy smile as well. She raised an eyebrow and leaned back in her chair.
"He reads faster than I?"
Luke nodded. "He does indeed. He says he can read 20,000 words per minute."
Lucy's jaw dropped. "No way!", she exclaimed, but laughing, Luke nodded once again. He was clearly enjoying that conversation and Lucy's reactions to what he was saying.
"I'm not lying! He's a genius. You can ask him yourself the next time you'll meet", Luke suggested with the biggest grin on his face and sighing, Lucy silently agreed with him. Yes, she'd ask Spencer if her brother was telling the truth about him as soon as they'd meet again. And she hoped that she wouldn't have to wait too long to see him again.
