On a sunny, warm day in July, Spencer and Lucy got married. All the preparations had taken time but now Lucy was standing in one of the many rooms of the Rossi mansion. Of course, the wedding would take place here. Rossi had offered his home for another wedding after JJ's one years ago. "Why renting an expensive location for the celebrations when you can have my huge garden and the house?", he'd said. And Spencer and Lucy had agreed.
Now all their friends and families were assembled here. Even Diana had been able to come. A huge white tent had been built in the garden where the people would celebrate after the ceremony.
"Oh, you look beautiful!" Smiling widely, Savannah walked into the room, Hank in her arms. Lucy turned around. She had been looking at herself in the mirror. Penelope and JJ both had helped her getting dressed, putting her makeup on and doing her hair, which was up in a bun, with a few strands caressing her pretty face. Paste gems were distributed in her dark brown hair.
"Beautiful?! She looks absolutely stunning!", Penelope exclaimed while she helped Lucy into her shoes.
"Thank you", Lucy smiled now and came over to pinch Hank's chubby cheeks. The little boy giggled. "Is everyone here already?", she asked nervously. Savannah nodded.
Lucy took a deep breath. She was nervous, without a doubt. But she was also excited. She was going to marry the man she loved with all her heart! "Alright. I guess I'm ready", she then said, glancing at her friends. Yes, for Lucy, Savannah was a friend as well, although the two women only knew each other for a few weeks. Lucy had insisted to get to meet Savannah and Hank as well and with joy, Derek had introduced them to each other.
"Good, because I'm ready too." Lucy's dad had appeared.
"Wow, dad, you look great." Lucy hadn't had a lot of opportunities to see her father in a suit.
"And you look..." He sighed and reached out an arm towards Lucy. "You look wonderful", he eventually said and Lucy chuckled.
"Thanks, dad."
Penelope and Savannah left before them to take their seats in the front rows. "Let's go", Lucy said as she took her bridal bouquet made of pink and white roses and linked arms with her dad. They went down the stairs and outside the huge window into the garden. Music started to play and Lucy felt her heart excitedly beating against her chest. Everyone was here: her family, Spencer's team, his mother, Phoebe, Derek, Savannah, just everyone. And they were all looking at her walking down the aisle right now.
Quiet sounds of admiration towards her and her wedding dress were heard and Lucy smirked. Yes, this dress was gorgeous and she had fallen in love with it after wearing it three times. The straps of the dress were made of tulle and so was the rest of the dress from waist to the floor. The part above was adorned with silver patterns. Lucy felt like a princess in it.
At the end of the aisle, she could see Spencer standing, right next to Derek. And suddenly, Lucy started to feel calmer. He was there. He was going to marry her. They would spend the rest of their lives together. It might have sounded naive, thinking that they'd stay together forever. But that was what Lucy thought. She felt that it would work with them. They had found each other and they wouldn't split up at any point. Although no one could ever know that, she had never been more certain of something.
"Take good care of my baby", Lucy's dad quietly murmured to Spencer as he gave away her hand.
Spencer nodded. "I promise, I will." Then he glanced at his bride. "You look absolutely stunning."
Spencer and Lucy smiled at each other for a moment before they turned to the priest Rossi had talked into having the ceremony not in a church, but in his garden. The priest's words were moving and when it came to Spencer's and Lucy's vows, Lucy had a bit trouble holding back her tears. She was the first to make her vow to Spencer: "Spencer, when I got here to D.C., I was afraid. I felt lost. I didn't expect to stay here for so long. And the least I expected was to fall in love with you. But I did, so fast I didn't even have a chance to fight against it." She chuckled. "I tried, believe me. I thought it wasn't the right time to fall in love with someone as amazing as you are. But...here we are." She spread her arms a bit and now the audience laughed, including Spencer. He took her hands into his and his thumbs gently stroked the back of them.
"Now it's my turn I guess", he eventually said and took a deep breath. "You know that I haven't been in love many times in my life. The last woman I loved died in front of my eyes and...I never thought I could fall in love with someone again after that. But then you appeared at the BAU, brought in by your brother. And from the first moment I fell for you. I couldn't fight it, as you couldn't fight it as well. But I was afraid that you couldn't feel the same for me and it almost drove me insane. And then Luke asked me to drive you home after that dinner..." He stopped and chuckled. Both, Lucy and Spencer glanced over to Luke who had a huge grin on his face.
"Thank you, man", Spencer grinned and then turned back to Lucy. "I couldn't imagine life without you in it anymore. You brought back love and you're the light in my life. I just love you so much."
At that moment, Henry came over to bring the rings. Smiling, Lucy and Spencer each took one of them. "With this ring, I'll take you as my wife. I promise to love and cherish you for the rest of our lives and be there in good and in bad times, until death do us part." While he said those words, Spencer slowly put the ring on Lucy's finger.
"With this ring, I'll take you as my husband. I promise to love and cherish you for the rest of our lives and be there in good and in bad times, until death do us part", Lucy repeated the same words as she put the ring on Spencer's finger.
"You may kiss the bride now", the priest said and Spencer didn't hesitate one second. He wrapped an arm around Lucy and pulled her closer to finally kiss her. Their first kiss as a married couple, as husband and wife.
