16. Say Goodbye

With a smile on my face and a sorta skip in my step, I was making my way to the apartment to talk with Harry about what I'd decided until.....

I couldn't believe what I was seeing. There in front of me, he couldn't even wait two fucking days for me to decide and get back to him, he already had another female in the place I'd  been helping pay for. Well no more, it stops now.

"WHAT THE FUCK HARRY, YOU COULDN'T WAIT TWO FUCKING DAYS TO MOVE ON"  then I actually noticed who it was. "YOU KNOW WHAT, YOU CAN HAVE HER, IM DONE. YOU KNEW WHAT SHE DID, YET THIS IS WHAT YOU WANT, FUCK YOU" I was furious at the very sight of her.

I went to the bedroom, slammed the door and locked it. I quickly started packing every last thing I owned. I didn't care if I had to live out of my car, I had to get out of here. I called Mindy to let her know I would no longer be at the apartment.

"Oh my God, Sam, what happened? You were so happy to get back just moments ago" she stated. And I was, until I got here.

I said, "Mindy, he had another here and I just can't do this. I deserve better than that"

"Yes, you do. Come to my place hon, bring your things. You're more than welcome. See you soon?"

"Ok, thank you, I will. I'm packing up now"

"Do you want me to come help?"

I was crying, and I said, "It'd be great, if you want, I'm in the bedroom, I locked it. Just let me know when you get here"

"Ok I'm on my way"

We hung up the call, I continued trying to pack. I didn't get far though as I was having blurry sight from the crying I was doing. How and why would he do this to me? I don't get it. I picked up the picture I'd had by the bed and threw it against the wall. It shattered on impact, much like my heart when I walked into the door.

He is good at fooling people I guess. He did it surprisingly to my parents easily. I guess because they're too trusting, perhaps I was as well. That doesn't mean though that Mindy was so easily, and she bought that he wouldn't be so bad to me either. He's just good to get what he wants I guess, and that's no longer me.

I heard the door and loud voices. I could tell it was Mindy. What I didn't get was her words. She said "I should've known you'd be involved in this, you conniving little bitch" then the other saying "well, we aren't all paid whores like you Min"

How fucking dare she. I had enough. I went out to the living room and yelled at her, "YOU, GET OUT!! YOU HAVE WHAT YOU WANT, BUT YOU WILL NOT BE LIKE THAT WITH HER" pointing to Mindy. "I'LL BE OUT IN AN HOUR TOPS. YOU CAN COME DO WHAT THE FUCK EVER YOU LIKE THEN"  I pushed her to the door and out.

I looked at Harry "If you don't like it, you can go with her. I'll leave the keys here when I go. I won't even take anything I paid for, just my clothes, you don't need to watch me. I'm no thief" I turned and went to the bedroom.

It didn't take long, Mindy and I had everything packed up and loaded. I went back in to leave the key like I said I would do, when Harry stood in front of the door, not wanting to let me back out. "Move Harry"

"No"

"Move, please, I don't want to fight with you"

"No, you don't need to do this Sam"

Is he insane? I'm not doing this. He is the one that made this decision. "Harry, I actually do. I came here in a good mood to talk to you, about us, but you make the choice clear already. You got what you wanted, just let me go"

"Sam, baby..."

"Stop, just stop. You don't ever call me that again, you understand me. I'm nothing to you. I'll find me and this baby a place to be and WE will be just fine without YOU"

"Sam, it's not what you think. I lo.."

"No, Harry you don't, I'm not sure you ever did. I don't want to hear it. Just be happy with it ok? I gotta go, I can't believe you completely deceived me and my family on a whole. Congratulations Harry if that was your goal, you did it"

I stormed by him at this point and left. I am certainly not going to continue on at the restaurant now. I've got to contact Cindy.

I went to the restaurant, sitting in my car to calm down a bit, I called Mindy once again to let her know I was at the restaurant to talk to Cindy to quit my job. I wasn't going to be able to do it anymore given the circumstances.

I walked inside the restaurant looking for Cindy. I found her in her office. I asked "can I talk to you Cindy?"

"Yeah, sure, what's up Sam?"

"I've come to a place that I, ..I  feel it'd be best if I put in my notice of quit. I cannot work in the environment per say any longer, not that I'm not forever grateful for what you've done to help me, I am, so much so. It's  just..."

"Sam, has something happened or has someone done something to you?"

"Cindy, I'm just not comfortable around some people on the pay here. I'd  rather not say, but rather just move on"

"Well, Sam I'd hate to see you go, but I can't stop you. You're an amazing worker and person. If there's anything I can do to help at any time, just let me know. You can stay as long or little as you'd like, just let me know"

"Honestly the sooner the better for my sanity. I'll need to find another job, one that's kinda light I'd guess, I'm due in like 6 months"

"I didn't realize, congratulations, and best of luck with everything"

With that I just left, knowing I'd need all I could get.

I got to Mindy's place and she helped me take the things inside, not that I'd had much. We talked a bit and my phone went off with a message.

From Harry: Sam, please, never forget you are my everything. I've only loved you, but you wouldn't let me talk. I need you both in my life, don't keep my son/daughter from me please.

Why won't he fucking stop? Even after he's been caught he just...

"Give me that" Mindy took my phone. "I'm calling him"

Harry

I can't believe my life. I had all I could've asked for, a beautiful girlfriend, work and a place to live with my girl. Then to top that a start to a family, a little early, but perfect. She's my entire life and I love it, everything about it.

Then just like that, like a damn tornado or something it's nearly all gone. I mean Sam still has the baby, so not entirely, but it is from me.

How? How could she think I'd cheat or even want Ellie, of all people? I'm so lost. That girl is a mess. Yet somehow, someway she was here at the wrong time and costed me everything.

I was brought from my own mind as my phone went off, hoping it was Sam, I didn't check...

"Hello, Sam?"

"No, not Sam. It's Mindy. Can you leave her alone for a while Harry? Don't you think you've hurt her enough for one day?"

"Mindy? You're her friend right? Is she with you? Is she ok? You probably don't believe me, but I love her, I really didn't do anything. Ellie was here to bring a message, that's it. Please tell ..."

"Ya know, you're right I don't. She is yes, but I don't care what you say. You need to give her time and respect, can you do that Harry?"

"Yes, yes I can. I can give her all she needs" I sniffled "she is my world Mindy"

"Then show it Harry"

She then hung up. This girl is a bit harsh, but I guess I kinda look guilty. I'm glad my Sam has a good friend.

Maybe I can go in early and see her at the restaurant. I hope so at least.
