Harry
Today it's the 3rd day since Mindy first told us that she feels she wishes to get a place of her own. Neither Sam nor myself have any idea as to why or what has brought it on. She has not appeared to be in any discomfort around us, and has said she'd like to remain friends. She's also stressed she would like to continue to see Sky.
The last couple days have been a bit rough however. Monday, Sam took the day off. Then tuesday I had taken the day off. Each of us explaining that things were a bit different at home and may need to cut from time to time for a brief period of time. Good thing is, our boss's are very understanding people.
This all being said it's now wednesday. Mindy has been job searching the last 2 days. Sam's parents are due here today, which she's still not aware of. Mindy, well she stayed with Sky today, which really helped so that both Sam and I could go into work.
Scott called to let me know they will be getting to town at roughly an hour before I get out normally. I told him my work address, and had them to meet me here, telling him Sam would be surprised as she still didn't know of them coming.
As we arrived at the house, something seemed a bit different to me when stepping in. I heard someone crying a bit, but it definitely was not Sky. There was no smell of food cooking or cooked like other days. Then I saw her....
"Mindy....are you ok? What happened? Where is Sky?"
"She's asleep" was all she said.
"Where is Sam?" I was looking all over, her car was in the drive, but there was no sign of her.
Nothing
"Mindy, please answer me"
"She left"
"How? Why? Her car is in the drive"
"Don't you see Harry? It's you, I'm in love with you. It hurts so much because I just want what she has, all of it. I'll never have any of it though, how can I when not even my own mother likes me, how can anyone else even care for me?"
"Mindy, you're so wrong about that" I motion to Sam's parents " these wonderful people care about you. Sam and I care about you. But Mindy I'm in love with Sam with all of my being. Please tell me you didn't say this to her and she left"
"God no, I'm not an idiot Harry. Just needed to get it out. I'll be out tomorrow though, and you'll likely not be bothered by me again. If I can just sleep here the night, I'll stay out of the way"
It's not a problem Mindy as long as you need, we have told you this already"
Mindy went into her room. I asked Scott and Mary to have a seat. I then went to check on Sky, while I was getting her, I heard the door and an unmistakable shriek from Sam. She's found out. I say "Sky, baby mommy just found out one of her surprises" she just giggles at me.
We get downstairs "hi baby"
"You...you did this?" She says pointing at her parents.
"Guilty"
"You are so good to me, for me. I love you"
"I love you to baby, with everything I am, but I have ulterior motives as well. I told you it would work out though right?" I hand Sky to Mary, as I kiss Sam then.
"Sooo......since Mindy was a bit emotional I think today...maybe we should go out to dinner today"
"Oh yeah, sounds good. Let me see if Mindy wants anything or wants to join. Is that ok with everyone, mom, dad, Harry?"
"Sure, that's fine"
Knocking on her door
"Yeah" she answers
I opened the door to find her packing things. " what's going on Mindy? I was just coming to ask if you wanted something to eat, or if you want to go with us?"
"No, I don't want to go and I don't want anything from you guys. I'm packing to leave. I'll be going tomorrow"
"Ok, but there's no rush"
"You don't need me, you have your parents here now. Can you just leave me alone?"
I left her alone as she asked. I felt bad for some reason. We got around, got Sky her jacket on and we left.
We got to the restaurant. We spent roughly 2 hours out, eating, chatting just catching up the 2 months.
Getting back home we settled Mary and Scott into a room, as they were tired from the trip. Soon after getting Sky ready for her bath and playing, putting her down. Then soon we went to bed ourselves.
It's been a long few days. Mary and Scott said they'd be happy to sit with Sky during the day the next couple days. Then the weekend we could all discuss the other things.
That's what we did. One day at a time I guess.
