Angelica soaked the cloth in the bowl of water, patting it onto the enemy prince's' head. "Poor devil seems to be running a fever." She commented. "He seems to have fading eyeshadow applied on his bottom eyelids - curious fashion if I do say so myself!"

"How did you find him?" Asked Peggy, watching her sister care for the boy.

Patton glanced at Logan. "Well, we were comforting Roman after he was told about... the coronation, and we saw his thestral tied up in Roman's' private stable. So we went and caught him. We had him tied up in Ro's' closet for a week, right Lolo?"

Logan blushed at the nickname. "Uh, yes. That is accurate."

"Is that why Roman had ordered a doubled-sized breakfast? He said it was for Patton! Hey, what if we tell King Deceit we'll give him back Virgil for some of his land, o-or thestrals?" Eliza, being more excited than the others, had often voiced ideas of the ransom. Logan and Patton hadn't told her their worries.

"Yes..." Logan said, covering up his awkwardness by adjusting his cuff sleeves. "Great ideas, Eliza."

King Phillip stood with his back to Roman when the Prince entered. His hands were held neatly behind his back, and his posture was rigid. His voice was brittle as he said, "Roman, why did your stable boy tell me that a young boy had fallen off your balcony earlier today?"

"I don't know what you mean, father." Roman was surprised to find himself so curt. He screwed his hands into tight balls, mimicking his fathers' disapproved tone. "Perhaps Jefferson was hallucinating."

"Don't play me as a fool."

"I would never."

Phillip spun around, face twisted in anger. Roman took a step back. "Roman, if this boy is another one of your... unnatural interests, I want him removed from the castle instantly. I will not have my son letting me down."

"It doesn't really matter if I'll never be king, does it?" Roman shrugged, switching to an obnoxious act. The sooner his father had had enough of him, the sooner he could get back to Pat and Logan to figure out something to do. "Or, you could pick up one of these things called a phone and google LGBTQ+. Maybe you'll see I'm not an embarrassment."

King Phillip sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Roman, I do not have time for this. Is the young man okay?"

"He is fine."

"Where does he live? We must inform his parents."

"He-He's an orphan." Technically, it wasn't a lie.

"What orphanage does he belong to?"

Roman racked his head for an excuse. "Uh, he doesn't live anywhere. He is homeless, so Patton told me to let him stay."

"Patton Hart?"

"That's the one."

King Phillip watched his son through narrowed eyes, the angry look fading. "Bring this boy to dinner."

"Wh-What?"

"Bring him to dinner. I'd like to meet him."

Roman blinked, slightly surprised. "He... I don't think he's up for it. He's, uh, unconscious?"

The king dropped his hand from pinching the bridge of his nose. "He's what?!"

But Roman was already running for the door. "Unconscious, yep! BYE!!!"

"Roman! Get back here! ROMAN!!"

Roman slammed the door of his room shut, breathing heavily as he said with a smile, "Hey, Schylurs!"

"Hello, Sir." The three maids chorused. Peggy winked at him, her trademark smile in place.

Roman walked across the room to his bed, perching on the edge of it. "Is Virge okay?"

"Yep! Logan says he has put himself in a memory-pining-thingy-dream-sleep..." Patton looked at Logan for help.

Logan sighed. "A Memorial Pining Sleep. - it happens in Dark Royalty. When recovering from a traumatic or upsetting event, they shut themselves off and live through their most treasured memories, whether they are good or bad."

"That is exactly what I said." Patton nodded at Roman, hands on hips. "Logan just provided conned textual knowledge-"

"Contextual knowledge."

"-that's the one."

Roman smiled with a raised eyebrow at his friends and looked back at his enemy. At least, that's what he was supposed to be. But Anxiety hadn't been like he was told - he wasn't fierce and brutal. He was a slightly innocent, unaware and anxious kid. Sure, he was dark and strange, but he was also... something else... "I don't think we should tell him about the fact he isn't in the Dark Realm. Or that we know who he is."

"Why?" Eliza frowned.

"Because he'd probably freak out again. Pat, Logan, can we go for a ride? I need to check something out." Roman stood up.

Logan nodded in agreement, but Patton frowned. "Who'll keep an eye on Anxiety, or Virgil, in case he wakes up?"

Angelica cleared her throat. "Excuse me, but you have the Schuyler sisters on your side. We'll tell the Dark Prince that you three set us to take care of him and all."

"Yeah!" Peggy grinned, folding her arms cockily. "The Schuyler sisters got your back!"

"Great," smiled Patton, standing up. "Let's go!"
