"Papa! Father!" Shrieked Fletcher as Amai cried loudly.

"Fletcher! Amai!" Patton scried from the ground, reaching out hopelessly.

The man hit his arm down with the flat of his sword. "Heretics." He spat, turning around to walk away.

Logan lunged, ripping his sword, a rapier he'd had for five years, from the wall, piercing the mans' arm. The man shrieked, grabbing the wound, and spinning around to face Logan. "Give us back our children before I take your head." Growled the retired advisor, tilting the rapier so it caught the light dangerously.

"You will burn in the fires of King Thomas for your insolence, you wretch." The man replied, before joining his friend who held the children. "Vaar derk!" He barked at the other man, who nodded and walked away with the children.

"Amai, Fletcher, hold on!" Cried Patton, jumping from the floor as he began to rush forwards.

The man pressed a short blade against his chest but didn't strike. "You will stay here, heretic. Vaar derk!"

And they were gone, leaving a sobbing Patton and a horrified Logan.

"We have to find Roman..." Logan breathed clutching his husband tightly.

Now in the streets, Patton and Logan jumped and ducked past the fighting. "No one's ever gotten this far into the city before!" Patton yelped, chasing after Logan.

Logan paused, whipping out his rapier when he saw some guards in trouble. "One moment, Patton." He said, before racing to the fight.

"Sir!" Yelled one of the guards upon seeing him. The three people attacking them were dressed in a shiny grey amour with a visor that covered their eyes. Logan slashed, knocking them to the ground.

"They're not dead." He said. "But they are unconscious. Tie them up then take them to the castle dungeon.

The guards nodded, a younger-looking one absolutely terrified. Logan tried an encouraging smile before rushing back to Patton.

"Logan! Patton!" Joan stood in front of the castle doors. There wasn't a single grey-clad enemy in sight - everything was peaceful at Roman's' castle. "How are you two today? No little ones, I see!" Patton flinched and Logan clenched his jaw. Joan frowned. "Is everything okay?"

"Joan, I'd love to talk to you but we need to speak to Roman," Logan said, clutching his rapier as he glanced behind him.

Joan looked apprehensive as they scanned the area. "What's going on?"

Patton piped up, voice hoarse, "There are men in gr-grey armour! They're taking the children!"

"They're what?" Joan said incredulously.

"He's not lying, Joan. Send a squad of your best fighters and message Maria's' village for help - I heard she's become CEO of Border Control." Logan ordered, now walking past Joan.

"I-I will but, Logan! What's going on?!" Joan stared after the two men in confusion as they hurried past them into the castle.

Logan's' favourite trick was to look busy. It always worked. You look busy, you look important, and no one tries to stop you. It also helped that he was a bit of a celebrity. No one wanted to stop a busy looking celebrity, especially when they are scowling, for something trivial like an autograph or questioning.

Patton just followed along, close to an emotional break-down. Logan wrapped his arm around him as he pushed his way into the throne room.

Roman sat sideways on his throne, whistling to himself as he handed a letter to Peggy Schylur, a servant. Peggy nodded at the other two men as she left with the letter.

"Roman." Logan got the Kings' attention as their friend turned to face them with a wide smile dropping already at their faces.

The five years had benefited the young king. Roman's' hair was a lovely chocolate brown, and his emerald eyes constantly lit up in any situation, no matter how dark it was. His arms were bound in tight muscle and his skin was tanned gently, despite the fact he was rarely seen by those in his castle let alone outside. He looked sleep-deprived.

"Hey, guys! Been a while. What's the problem?" Roman said, latching onto his friends' grief instantly.

Patton finally broke down in tears, running to his friend. "The children! They're taking the all the children!"

Roman frowned, catching Patton in a hug. "Who- What's taking the children?"

"Knights, it seems: in grey armour," Logan answered, walking quickly over to the others. He stood there awkwardly. "They mentioned a 'King Thomas'. Do you know anything about that?"

"No, I-I don't. What do you mean, are they literally taking children?"

"They took Fletcher and Amai! They're gone!" Wailed Patton.

Roman's' mouth dropped open and he stared at Logan in disbelief. Logan nodded in confirmation. "W-Well," Stuttered their King, "We'll need to talk to Deceit about this. His help will be invaluable."

"Please, Roman," Mumbled Logan as he too wrapped his arms around the King and his husband, "Help us..."
