Virgil still hadn't returned and the sun was near setting. Patton was absolutely sick with worry and Roman tried to ignore it. Joan was feeling very awkward.

"What if he doesn't return?" Fretted Patton, pacing the space they had made as their camp. It was a clearing in the centre of a forest that steered slightly of the road. "What if he's stuck somewhere and we don't find him again? What if he's hurt! Or-Or dead?!"

"Patton!" Logan snapped firmly, looking up from his book. "Calm down. Anxiety wouldn't want you worrying over him. He'd say 'that's his job'."

"Are you guys seriously not going to tell me his name?" Asked Joan.

The three boys looked at them. Joan rolled their eyes. "You've only ever called him Anxiety apart from that one time you said 'Vee'. Like, I get that he didn't want to tell me his name, but he's not even here right now!"

"Erm, the thing is he'd probably get madder..." Roman explained awkwardly.

"Excuse my language, sire, but that's bullshit." They answered back.

Roman swallowed, hesitating for an excuse. "He'd just feel betrayed if we told you his name - he's sensitive like that!"

Patton nodded in agreement. "If it makes you feel any better, Joan, he did this with us when we first met him!"

"And you did throw him, so it stands a reason why he wouldn't trust- or even like -you enough to tell you his name," Logan stated matter-of-factly.

Joan scowled. "Like I previously said, bullshit."

"Look, Joan, just drop it okay?" Sighed Roman, pinching the bridge of his nose with one hand while he held up the other. "We don't know why Anxiety just bailed out on us suddenly but he hasn't come back and I'm seriously trying not to freak out. The last thing we need is you pressuring us about Vee's' name."

Joan scowled. "Fine, be like that!"  And they turned around, crossing their arms with a huff.

Roman opened his mouth to protest, then stood up and walked out of the clearing. "I'll be right back." He called over his shoulder lamely, before he walked into the shadows.

Joan uncrossed their arms, gulping under Patton's' and Logan's' cross stares. "He did know I was joking right?"

"None of us," Logan replied through gritted teeth, "Have been in a joking mood until our friend decided to literally fly off."
