I could easily smell where she had run and quickly calculated where she was headed. Years ago when I was little my father and I found a secret pond that if you weren't on top of it you didn't even know it existed. It was housed by a ravine that blended in to the naked eye looking out at the horizon. The path she was on happened to be the longer route so I took a shortcut through the woods on the less used one hoping to cut her off. Running as fast as I could I barely made it around the edge of the ravine in time to tackle and stop her.
Rolling down the hill I regained my footing watching as she stood and stared me down. Before me stood this beautiful and pissed off white Wolf, whose fur had an iridescent shine in the sunlight and eyes a mesmerizing galaxy blue. In her eyes I could see her taking in my form. I was a huge Black wolf with deep forest green eyes and my fur had an oil spill look when hit by the sunlight just right. She started to circle me and in return I circled her back.
I wanted so badly to talk to her and figure out what she was thinking running off but she wasn't a part of my pack so the pack link wouldn't work. She tried to take off up the hill and quickly grabbed her by the scruff throwing her back towards the pond. Time and time again she would try to run but I would bring her right back. She finally shifted back and charged at me. Shifting back in time for her tiny fists to beat off my chest.
"You fucking bastard. Why didn't you tell me? I was with you in your study this morning and you said nothing. Now I am trying to leave, and you won't let me."
Calling me names really struck a nerve along with her tiny flying fists. Small as they were it was starting to hurt so I grabbed them and looked her in the eyes. I wasn't sure what she was talking about," What was I supposed to tell you Willow?"
"I don't know maybe that we were mates. You knew, didn't you? When did you know? Oh, my goddess why do I even care. I can't stay with a mate who hates me. I can't spend my life like that. I won't spend my life like that!" She started to struggle to free herself from my grip while kicking me in the shin.
Tightening my grip, I growled out "I will let you go on one condition you keep your hands and feet to yourself." When she didn't respond "Willow, do you understand. If you keep on I will have to keep restraining you." With an angry nod as my response, I let her hands go and answered her questions. "Yes, I knew but I just found out this morning. I thought that Leo was trying to play a trick on me."
Tears were replacing the anger in her eyes. "Why didn't you say anything".
"It's not my place to tell you until your wolf does. You know this and I should have realized it too. And furthermore, I don't hate you Willow but your right no matter how the goddess has decided our fates I can't let you be my mate."
"Then let me go!" She said it so quietly as she turned towards the lake, I almost didn't hear it.
"I can't do that!"
Turning back around she charged at me again. Sadness and anger spilling from her. She started beating on me again only this time it was with more rage. Grabbing her hands I twisted them behind her back and used my other to put her in a chokehold. Not tight enough to choke her but enough to show her I would no longer be putting up with her childish antics.
"Please just let me leave", Again in a whisper "Why won't you just let me go".
"Because I can't."
"Why can't you? It's a simple thing. Let me go and say adios I will leave and never return".
"I can't do that either."
"What is wrong with you. What do you want me around for? I'm of no use to you if we aren't officially mated. What so you can show me off as the mutt from the Blood Moon pack that you kept as a trophy. WHAT IS IT!" She started struggling again trying to get out of my grip although I had to admit to myself that being this close to her felt amazing. I also loved the way her body wiggled against mine and was having a hard time keeping it from showing.
