Chris's Point of View
I was cradling her lifeless body screaming and cussing the Moon Goddess for taking her away from me. She had been through so much and was so strong. How could she just die? I rocked back and forth with her head on my chest and cried. I didn't care who walked by. I didn't care if they thought their Alpha was weak for showing this kind of emotion. I just lost my Willow. Doc just walked out of the room to give me a moment but I knew he was going to come back and take her away from me. My wolf howled mournfully and it was the saddest sound I ever heard. Hatred started to fill my chest. Not at her but at myself. Why did I keep her at arm's length? Why did I even think of rejecting her? Why didn't I tell her everything and how I really felt before she was gone? I hated myself for being so selfish and cold-hearted. The truth was I didn't want to get close. I didn't want to feel those things for her. I couldn't. Losing my father and man I adored and loved and cared for broke me. What if I lost her too, but reality set in and I did. I did lose her. I got my revenge but at what cost.
I cradled and rocked her for a while longer when I felt her start to go stiff. I knew it was probably rigamortis setting in but I pulled back to look at her anyway. Her eyes were fluttering open and adjusted to the light then her hands came to her throat and started clawing. The tube. "DOC DOC GET IN HERE!" I laid her down and grabbed her hands. How was this happening? "Willow calm down. It's me, Chris. Docs coming." I looked to the door "DAMN IT DOC SHES ALIVE GET YOUR ASS IN HERE". The door burst open and Doc came in. He looked at her on the bed struggling to get to her throat and ran back out. I turned back to Willow and tried to calm her. I know Doc wouldn't just leave he had to have a reason. He came back in holding a shot and walked to her other side. "Willow dear. It's ok." Her eyes found him and her whole body was shaking "We placed a tube in your throat to help you breathe. I have to remove it and that choking feeling you have will go away." She looked at me with pleading eyes when Doc stuck the needle in her arm. "Willow this is going to help relax you. Everything is going to be ok." Her body instantly relaxed and she slipped back out of consciousness while doc hooked her heart monitor back up and removed the breathing tube.
Willow's Point of View
I woke up with a start sitting straight up in bed. I looked around the room to find that it was empty but I could hear voices outside my door. Athena and Leo, I think it was. I swung my legs so that I sat on the edge of the bed and removed the leads on my chest causing the monitor to flatline. I started to get out of bed and make my way to the door when it burst open. When Athena saw me standing there tears sprang to her eyes and she hugged me tightly and squealed. "Oh, Willow I am so happy to see you. I thought we lost you. I mean technically we did but you're here. You're really here" I hugged her back one to steady myself but two because I was happy to be alive. Leo joined in on the hug "You had us scared Willow. I'm glad you are ok" I smiled up at him "Me too. Boy was that something I never want to go through again. Where is Chris?"
"He is at the Manor. He had some pack stuff to deal with so Athena came to sit with you. I came to check on you both."
I smiled up at him and grabbed onto Athena a little more tightly as my legs felt so weak. "You should get back in bed" Athena's face showed she was worried but I didn't want to get back in bed. I had been there for almost a month. I wanted to go back to the manor. I wanted to see Chris. I wanted to go home.
"Athena can I just go home. Please" She looked to Leo who walked out to get Doc "Well at least sit in the chair please" I gave in to her on that note because I did feel tired and let her lead me to the chair beside my bed. When Doc came him he checked me over and we discussed me going home.
"I don't see why not. Besides being weak you are completely healed." Giving me a big smile and hug "I'm glad you pulled through Willow. Yes, you can go home" I hugged him as tight as I could. He wanted me to use a wheelchair to leave but like I told him how would I build up my strength if I didn't start. We came to a compromise and they pushed one behind me as I slowly made my way down the hall. When we pulled up in front of the manor I couldn't wait to see Chris but I was told he had to leave for a bit and no one told me why. So they took me upstairs to our room and helped me to get comfortable. I was going to roll over to grab Chris's pillow so that I could breathe in his scent but found it was all over mine. He must have done the same thing. Laying back I closed my eyes and went to sleep. It felt good to be home.
Chris's Point of View
I stopped at the hospital on my way back from dealing with Katrina. I needed to check on Willow and honestly, I needed her to calm my nerves. Even though I rejected her part of our mates bond still stood because one she never accepted it and two because it wasn't me who actually said it or meant it. I was forced to. Walking through the halls I stopped in front of her room to find the door open. When I looked inside it was empty and the bed was neatly made. I turned around fear and anger coursing through my veins. I searched for Doc but he was nowhere to be found. The night shift nurse had no idea about her whereabouts. This was her first day on the job and she was still in training so she wasn't able to access the computers to pull her chart.
I ran out the doors and shifted once I hit the road. I needed to get home. I swear if something happened to her I was going to flip shit that no one told. me. Barging through the door to my house I shifted back and hollered for Leo. When he appeared at the door to the kitchen he saw my state and ran forward with Athena following close behind.
"Chris whats wrong?"
"Willow is gone and no one will tell me where she is at. Or apparently they have no idea. Gather the Warriors we are going to find her!"
A smile crossed his face and Athena covered her mouth to keep a small laugh from escaping her lips. "No Chris I won't. She is fine."
Anger was welling up inside worse than it already was. "How the hell do you know she is fine."
Athena stepped forward and put her hand on my arm "I'm sorry we didn't tell you earlier. We just figured you wouldn't want to be bothered while you talked to Katrina. She is upstairs Chris."
"What did you say"
"She is upstairs. Doc said we could bring her..."
I didn't wait for her to finish her sentence. I took the stairs two at a time and ran to my room. Slamming open the door she looked at me and my breath caught in my throat seeing her laying there. A smile spread across her face and I couldn't help but melt on the spot. I was so happy. My Willow was home and I had a lot of explaining, ap and making up to do.
