Watching Mae walk away made me... sad. This could be the last time I see her. I will continue to text her every day for as long as I can because... she's different than other girls I've dated. She just seems right for me, and even if we aren't living near each other anymore, I want to make it work. Once I've seen that she is out of sight I sprint home. I'm supposed to take over questioning/watch again 5 minutes ago. I run as fast as I can home, and when I come through the door, Beckett is standing there.

"You dared to show up eh?" he says handing me the mask. I slide it down.

"While on normal routes earlier Andrew found another one on her way back from the mission, but she was being quite careless," he says, "she's on the older side though, so not to much to ask her."

"Okay," I say hesitantly as we enter the room where the boy is still shackled up, and the old lady next to him, though not as tightly.

"Nice of you to join us Colton," Dad says to me. I nod,

"What have you gotten out of her?" I ask quietly.

"Not much," he whispers, "they don't usually give a lot of information to the old ones in the business since they know they are sloppy and more likely to get caught. The boy seems to know her on the other hand." I nod,

"Okay," I say, "what should I do tonight?"

"Well since we have 2 of them we are expecting they may try to get them back, though who knows, neither seem too valuable," he starts, "either way watch the security cameras all night, and anything suspicious, inform me immediately, and if the power goes out run to us." I nod,

"Okay, is that all?" I question. He nods,

"This is important, no slacking off and watching your phone." With this he leaves me, and I go to sit in the big chair facing all the screens.

After about an hour of just watching the cars pass by in front of our house, I check my phone. 12:23. I sigh and text my Dad quickly.

Me:

How long do I have to stay at the cameras?

Dad:

Andrew can switch with you at 2.

Okay, an hour and a half. I can do that. I stare at the screens and start counting things. Amount of trees, amount of bushes, amount of... well everything in my sight. By the time I'm done counting it's almost 1 am. I turn on the massager on the chair so I can at least enjoy sitting in the chair. I grunt as the massage chair stops sticking something into my back. I go to turn the machine off just as all the lights go out, followed by security cameras. I jump out of the chair sprinting to where everyone else is.

"THE POWER WENT OUT!" I scream, and Dad whips towards me pointing up.

"We've noticed," Dad says whispering something to Beckett and Andrew who take off towards the door. He comes over to me eyeing the two Blake members tied up. All of us have our masks down so we can't be identified or targeted.

"I have Beckett and Andrew at the front and back door, and we will stay here," he starts, "they are coming to get them back, so we are the last resort to stop them, understand." I nod and look at the two of them.

"What do you know about this?" I ask loudly to them. They both look between each other.

"Nothing," the boy answers, "I didn't think they would come back for someone like me!" he exclaims.

"What about you?" I ask the old lady, "your timing here seems oddly suspicious."

"I was just doing a mission, and like him, I assumed they'd leave me here. I was already meant to retire next June." Both of them seem like they are telling the truth, but something tells me the lady knows something.

"Colton drop it," Dad instructs, "just stay on guard." I turn back into position as Dad slides me a gun and dagger. I've been trained to use them all, but I've never had to, and I'm not sure if I would be able to in the moment. I stand at an angle where I can see the door leading to the room, but also the Blake members. Dad does the same on the opposite side of the room. Beep, beep, beep. Our house alarm blares meaning they've managed to get past the doors. Now they have Beckett and Andrew to deal with. I hear the banging and start to get worried about them. We don't have very many men here, and by the footsteps, it sounds as though they have a ton. I take deep breaths and watch the door, glancing back at the boy and lady every few seconds. The footsteps start to get louder and I pray that Andrew and Beckett are okay. When the 6 people dressed in black come in, I'm alarmed and pull the gun out, holding it in their direction. Dad does the same. I like to think that I can think on my feet, but not like these guys just did. Before I even realize they've moved, one has drop kicked Dad in the head knocking him out, and another one is behind me, knocking the gun from my hand.

"Where are the keys," the man whispers. I don't answer, and in response he hits me on the back of the head making my vision blur, and that spot hurt a lot.

"Where are they!?!" he yells,

"In the office to your right," I croak. As he lets go of me. I stumble, my vision still blurry. I think I may have a concussion. I go towards Dad to check if he's okay, but I'm having trouble walking straight, and I bump into something... someone, I realize in alarm.

"Sorry about this, you seem nice," a young girly voice whispers, before her foot collides with the front of my skull. I fall to the ground and slowly everything goes dark...
