8:54pm

The past few days have been kinda crazy. We've had non-stop missions, and whenever I have free time I'm on the phone with Griffin. He makes sure to text me every morning and every night, and we try to call each other every day. Usually for 8pm. Tonight we are doing it at 9, since I just got back from my mission a few minutes ago. With all of this, Dak, Indie, Mom and I made time to go see a Broadway show in a couple days. I close the door to my bedroom and plug my almost dead phone in. I wait 5 minutes until Griffin calls me at exactly 9.

"Hey," he says smiling. "How was your day?" I bite my lip,

"It was okay," I start, "kind of busy since I had work all day." To Griffin, I'm working as a personal shopper here in New York. Except he doesn't know I'm in New York. He thinks I'm in New Jersey.

"Today was moving day for me," he answers. I smile,

"That's exciting," I start, "how's your... Aunt and Uncle right?" He hesitates,

"Um, yeah, they are good," he answers. It seems like he's lying, but I won't push it. "You look very pretty right now." he says smirking to cover up the awkward silence.

"In my hoodie and sweatpants," I say flirtatiously.

"I like your baggie hoodie and sweatpants," he smiles. I'm pretty sure I'm blushing as Dakota barges into my room.

"Hey Mae," she starts, as I try to motion to the fact I'm on facetime with Griffin. As smart as she is, she doesn't seem to pick up on the fact that I'm on the phone. "I'm going on a mission, wanna come?" My face turns bright red and I struggle to find a way to cover this.

"What's it for now Dak?" I say trying to play it off, "boots or a top?" I tilt my head at her hoping she'll catch on, as I motion my eyes towards my computer.

"What no," she says confused, before suddenly catching on, "for a dress!" I sigh and roll my eyes so Griffin can see.

"In a bit Dak," I say waving her off, as she shoots me a glance of panic, telling me to make sure this is covered up.

"Fine, see you later," she says a warning in her tone. I wave to her and turn back to Griffin.

"Sorry about that," I answer, "she always is on a mission to find some kind of clothing." Griffin laughs,

"Yeah, my friend is like that," he starts before taking it back.

"Who is this female friend of yours?" I question. I don't really care, because as I can tell Griffin likes me, and he has dated before, so I can't hold being friends with them against him, right?

"I grew up with her," he starts awkwardly, "we have known each other forever, and have lived nearby each other forever."

"Your quite nervous telling me about this friend," I joke, but Griff seems nervous, "did you and her... you know, date?" He blushes,

"No, no, I don't think of Cassie that way," he says, but there is something underlying his tone I can't quite place.

"Okay, okay," I sigh. "So..." with that I continue our conversation for the next hour, until Griffin says he needs to go. When he hangs up I go downstairs to check if anyone is home. I know Dak is on her mission, but will be home soon I guess, and I'm pretty sure Dad is out meeting with a partner organization.

"Hello!" I call from the base of the stairs, "anyone home!?" I wait for 4 seconds before Nate's voice calls back.

"In here baby sis!" he yells, the voice coming from the family room. "What's up?" He has his nose stuck in a book, but he puts it down when I come into the room.
