When I got home around 12:30 everyone was already asleep so I went straight to my room. Tonight was a great one, and one I'll want to relive forever. Everything I said to Mae is the truth, or at least I want it to be. As I grab everything out of my coat pocket from tonight, I pull out the photo booth picture and use a magnet to hang it up on my white board. I'll have to move it when I go back to Boston, but for now it's nice to have it hung up where I can see it. I tear off the wristband and place it behind the photo. Something tells me I'll want to keep that as something to remember tonight. As I jump into bed for the night, I check to make sure everything is finalized for tomorrow's date.

The next morning I'm woken early by the sound of birds chirping. I don't mind though. I go downstairs, make myself a coffee, and start on the preparations for tonight. Soon enough Geoffrey joins me to help out. While tonight will be quite an extravagant date, I think Mae deserves it, especially since it is our last for who knows how long.

"Are you sure about all of this!" Geoffrey exclaims a couple hours later as we start on the dessert. I nod,

"Yes Geoffrey," I say, "Thank you for all your help, I really appreciate it." Geoffrey sighs and starts on the salted caramel creme brulee. 4 more hours of cooking/baking, then off to set it all up!

Mae:

Hey ;)

Me:

Hey, what's up?

Mae:

I know we aren't meeting for like 3 hours, but what should I be wearing tonight?

Me:

Semi-formal :)

Mae:

Okay! can't wait! <3

I close the text from Mae, and check with Geoffrey.

"Hey Geoffrey, I'm going to head out to set up now, I'll be back to grab the food in about 2 hours," I say.

"Okay, have fun Griffin!" he calls. I jump into the car waiting outside and drive to our mystery location for tonight. It's a 30 minute drive, so I only get an hour to set up. Thanks to my research and some help from Mack, I've found a lot of things I think she'll love. I lay out the rose petals hoping the wind won't ruin them before Mae and I get here in a few hours. Next I set up the fairy light-I think that's what they are called. I lay out all the blankets, and my small gift. I check to make sure the speakers work, and finally put out all the vases with flowers. To finish it all off I check to make sure the car is clean, and I have all Mae's favourite music, accompanied by some of mine. I drive back home, with 1 hour until I'm meeting Mae. I run into the house, and get dressed in my suit and tie (the tie is blue, since Mae always tells me blue brings out my eyes). Once I'm dressed, I fix my messy hair, and make sure everything is perfect for Mae. I quickly load all the food into the car, with 10 minutes until I'm supposed to meet Mae. Luckily I'm driving over, so I'll still be early. I check to make sure I have the blindfold and take off toward the street near the cafe. I park my car and walk to where Mae already waits in front.

"Hey!" I exclaim grabbing her from behind. She almost jumps when I grab her, but she registers quickly I'm not a stranger.

"Hi," she says turning to face me. "Where are we going tonight?" she asks.

"That is confidential information you need to earn," I tease, which makes Mae grin, which automatically makes me grin. Something about her smile is just so contagious. She smiles,

"Well, are you going to take me there?" she asks.

"It's a bit of a drive this time," I tell her. She nods and I hold the passenger seat door open for her. She climbs, and I quickly get in and start driving. "I brought the best music for the best girl," I say handing her the list, and the number each one is. She covers her hands as she punches in a number.

"How'd you know I liked this song!" she exclaims as what is probably the most basic teenage girl song comes on.

"Just a hunch," I flirt, needing to pull my eyes off of her and onto the road. After a long car ride of Mae's classic teenage girl music, we get a few minutes walk from the set up. I park the car. The sky is just starting to change into a sunset, and it looks stunning with everything else going on. I pull out the blind fold and Mae smiles,

"Again!" she exclaims, "I hate surprises!"

"Well you haven't minded mine so far," I tease. She smiles and I secure the blindfold around her eyes. I grab her hand and pull her in the direction of the surprise. Once we get to the path of roses I grab the lantern I'd left near there, and pull off her blindfold. She smiles at me, and start following the rose path, me following close behind. When she looks up to see the romantically lit glamping experience, her smile widens from ear to ear.

"Griffin!" she exclaims, "you didn't have to do all of... this!" she says throwing her hands up. The heart of roses on the bed is soon tossed off to the side as we sit down. I grab the food quickly and place it on the bed in front of her. The sun is almost gone now, and everything is only lit up by candles and lanterns. As we eat, I play gentle music in the background and we talk and laugh for a while.

"What am I going to do without you!" Mae exclaims.

"You know we could stay," I answer, "in Penn maybe, or just move somewhere else. We are both old enough to be living on our own, or something like that." I say, though we both know we couldn't do that.

"I don't think I'd be able to move away from my family," Mae says, "since we moved around so much, my sisters, they're my best friends and I already miss them." I nod,

"Maybe one day," I say doubtfully. At this rate we are always going to be an online relationship that meets up every couple of months.

"So are we continuing our daily calls and texts when we get back?" Mae asks playfully.

"I'll be there, every night at 8pm for a call, and every morning for a good morning text," I start, "I want this to work Mae. It may be too early to move somewhere for each other, but eventually..." She nods,

"8 o'clock," she says softly.

"8 o'clock," I repeat. We continue talking for must be what is a few hours, and it's pitch

black out. I check the time to see it's about midnight already.

"It's getting pretty late huh?" Mae asks noticing my expression.

"Yeah, but I don't mind," I tell her, despite the fact I'm tired. I see Mae smirk, "honestly!" I

exclaim, "I will stay here all night if that's what you want." I say.

"Really," she says, her face slowly moving towards mine.

"Really," I whisper, our lips interlocking, as she slowly moves to straddle me. We stay there, making out for a good 45 minutes, if I had to guess. When she finally pulls away, she has something she needs to say, and it is evident from her facial expression.

"Griffin," she starts, her eyes staring into mine intently, "Griff, I-, I love you." I smile up at her. It seems way too early to be saying this, but the words slide right off my tongue as I've been waiting to say them forever,

"Mae, I've loved you since the day I met you," I start, "and I don't think those feelings will ever go away."
