My Dad comes out here later today. I told Mae yesterday, and she didn't want to show it, but she's nervous. He's coming to our housewarming party along with Mack and her family, and Cas. Apparently they both think I'm not safe with her and want to meet her and talk to her. My main worry is they will put her in jail. It wouldn't be too hard to even do it. She's admitted that she's part of an assassin organization and killed a countless number of people. I'm afraid they'll put her in jail, and make me testify. That won't happen.

"So there are 8 of us, we can eat out on the patio," Mae says as she checks off her list for the dinner party. "I'll make baked pasta, and salad, oooh and green beans!"

"I think that's plenty!" I tell her,

"Well we also need dessert. So I was thinking I could make brownies, and cookies, and go out to buy a fruit platter," she says, "plus I'll need you to pick up chips and salsa to leave around the house before we actually sit down for dinner."

"I'm on it," I say grabbing the car keys, "and Mae, don't stress, they'll love you." With that I go out to pick up all the food on the list Mae gave me, along with flowers to put around the house, and our dry cleaning. With unpacking the house and everything we haven't had time to do laundry so I brought it by the dry cleaners yesterday.

First up, food. There is a long list of groceries for everything she is going to make, and everything Mae will just put out on a platter and make it look pretty. She's going way over the top for this dinner. She's nervous about meeting my Dad, and I get why, but I can tell her 100% that this isn't the stuff that will impress him. But it makes her happy, and what makes her happy makes me happy. And if I'm happy, well hopefully my Dad will be too. After picking up all the food I head towards the flower shop.

"What can I get you?" the flourist asks me as I reach the counter. I check my list.

"White roses and purple freesia please," she tells me to wait a moment and goes back to get them. I have no idea what a freesia is, but that's what Mae wanted. Apparently they will make her look more innocent then something red because red reminds people of violence and purple calms people. She rambled on with this for 10 minutes after I asked before I just gave up and said I get what she means. You'll understand one day son. Dad's voice blares through my ears, when Daddy? I had asked him. I was only 9 at the time. When you have a wife, or a really serious girlfriend. Then you'll understand what I mean about women. You always try to make them happy, and feel good about themselves. I smile. Dad is the one who taught me how to treat women right, he'll get that I see how Mae isn't like the other Blakes, and she really has changed. I smile,

"That will be $50," the flourist says, handing me the bunch of each of them. I pay and head to the dry cleaners, and then home.

"Do you have the food!" Mae calls. She comes out dressed in a little apron. I smile and grab her waist to kiss her.

"You look adorable," I whisper in her ear. She smiles, but soon pulls away.

"The food?" I smile, "Griff! I only have 5 hours until they are coming! I need to start on the pasta and salad!" I sigh and hand her the bag. She kisses me briefly on the cheek before fluttering off to the kitchen to start on the food. Our first night here she told me how much she loves to cook, but she rarely had the chance at home since everyone was always out on missions, and they rarely ate as a family. So while Mae is in the kitchen I attempt to help by putting the flowers out and calling Cas.

"Hey," I say as she picks up, "how's everything going? Is my dad in yet?" I wait for her response anxiously. Dad said I should help with preparing the dinner party and not pick him up at the airport, so I'm nervous about what he's going to ask Cassie and Mack when I'm not there. Hence the reason I'm calling her.
