As I walk back towards the whole group I feel guilty. I could've stopped Dak and Nate from getting away, but I didn't. I told Nate to pretend to threaten me and run. I saved Dak's life and I don't think she'll ever know it. When we blew the car engine Dak must've inhaled some gas that made her choke and stop breathing. When I got to Nate and her, she hadn't taken a breath in a minute, so I started CPR. I could've stopped them. But I didn't. I say I'm on Griffin's side, on the good side. Yet when it came down to it, I couldn't stop them from getting away. Even if I did stop Dak from getting away, who knows if they would come back for her, or trust that she can get her own way out. Right? So technically what I did may not have impacted the final outcome. Right? Griffin doesn't ask me any questions, and I think he believes Nate did threaten me. He did pull a knife out, which I have to say was smart. As we go to bed that night, I can't help but think about what they are doing right now. No doubt packing everything up and moving across the country. Maybe they'll go to Washington, that was always a fun place to live. Or maybe back to New York again, or Ohio. They could be anywhere in the country, but I will find them. Just because I let them go, doesn't mean I want them roaming out there. Me and the amazing team Griffin put together will find them, find their house, and lock them away. I can do this. We can do this.

I didn't sleep at all that night. Instead I formulate a plan. A detailed plan of how we will find them. It will take weeks, possibly months to do it since it could be anywhere in the country, but we will do it. We will work hard until we can find them and bring justice to all the organizations. But first a day of fun and competition to get everyone's spirits up.

"Morning," I whisper to Griffin at 6am handing him a steaming cup of coffee, "get up and get dressed, we have a lot of people to go collect." Griffin stumbles into the closet and throws on a bathing suit I left out for him, along with a shirt on top. Me, I'm wearing a perrywinkle triangle shaped bathing suit with white ripped jean shorts and a burgundy tank top. After Griffin is ready we jump in the car and I drive to Mack's house where Ivy and Jayden spent the night. I wake them all up and tell them to put on a bathing suit and normal clothes on top and jump in the car. By the time we make it to the hotel where Lucas, Charles, Paris, Hayden, and Harper are staying and do the same. We have to take an extra car to fit some people, so the 'adults' go in one car and follow me. I take them all to a small beach that's completely empty since it's the middle of October and immediately toss bags around.

"Mae what are we doing here?" Mack asks, rubbing her eyes. It's early in the morning for all of us, but I have a full day planned.

"Well, since you have all worked so hard, I thought we could enjoy a fun day of friendly competition before we return to planning our next steps," I tell them, "and before any of you discuss the fact we failed to get them, let me just say next steps are already in the works. Now," I pour out the bag of sandcastle materials. "Pair up and build the best sandcastle you can. Whoever makes the worst buys our breakfast." With that everyone quickly pairs off and starts building. I grab Griffin's hand and grab the materials we need while he helps people find a pair. More specifically Mack and Lucas.

"I could've helped you plan this," he tells me as we build the base. "I'm kinda great at this stuff." I smile at him,

"I thought I'd give it a try, given the fact you always do it," he smiles at me and keeps watching me after I look away, "so what's happening with Mack and Lucas?" I ask him. He smiles,

"Lucas has a bit of a crush on her, so I told him I'd set them up. You just gave me the perfect opportunity," his tone is light and happy as if last night didn't happen.
