Last night was... perfect. Griffin took care of every last detail, from the roses, to the candles, to the music, to the food. When I said that I loved him I felt like I had to. When he said it back, it was like my heart lit up with a million lights. Now I'm in a car on my way back to New York. I'm supposed to get there in about an hour, and I slept through the whole beginning of the car ride. I didn't get home until about 2am last night, so I'm super tired in general. Hopefully I won't have to do much when I get home today. I spend the last hour of the car ride listening to music, and right before I get home a text comes in.
Griffin:
How was your morning?
Me:
Slept through most of it thanks to you ;)
Griffin:
Haha, me too. I had a lot of fun last night <3
Me:
Bet you it wasn't as much as me...
Griffin:
I don't know...
I was just checking in for now, but I'll talk to you at 8?
Me:
Definitely
Griffin:
Goodbye Mae. I love you
Me:
Love you too<3
I put my phone away, a smile plastered to my face. We pull up to the house, and as I step out, I'm immediately bombarded with Dak's arms wrapped around my whole body.
"I missed you too!" I laugh as she lets go and Indie hugs me too. "Where's Dad, and Mom, and Nate?" I ask noticing some family members missing. Dak bites her lip,
"Well..." she starts, "yesterday Dad saw a Colton member hiding out, and they tried to follow him home. So we were waiting for you to move again!" Dak finishes with fake enthusiasm. I can't help but roll my eyes, but to be honest, New York was getting boring anyways.
"Dak and I packed up your room this morning, and now we are getting right back in the car to drive to..." Indie quickly does a fake drum role on her lap. "Florida!" I groan,
"Come on that's a 17 hour drive!" I complain.
"At least we get a warm winter!" Dak pipes up.
"As if we are making it til winter there!" I joke as Dak puts her arm around my shoulder leading us inside.
"Come on," she states, "let's get out stuff.
The car ride is long, and hot. We stop for dinner once, but Mom drives straight through the night. We get there about 7am, maybe it was 8. My parents left me and Nate sleeping in the car until about 9, when we are woken up by the chirping of a bird. I called Griffin last night at 8 when we stopped for dinner, but only for a few minutes saying I was in a rush. As I head into the house, my bag of stuff tucked under my arm, a good morning text from Griffin comes in. I decide to leave it and respond later. I need to unpack quickly so I don't waste the whole day.
The place is small. Smaller than our New York for sure. There are only 3 bedrooms. Meaning that Dak, Indie and I have to share a room. We get the master at least, meaning one king bed and a single. As per usual, Indie takes the single, leaving Dakota and I sharing a bed.
