9:40am

As we sit in the car driving along the road, only one other car is in view. The Blake car. She drives for maybe 10 minutes. Everything feels a lot faster because of the nerves. Soon enough her car stops and we stop only a block behind. Paris lets Lucas, Jayden and I out and we immediately sprint after her. She walks a full 2 blocks from the car and stops in front of a house. A poor neighborhood. She makes her way to the side of the house counting windows. She's being sloppy with her work, probably thinking this is an easy mission. I feel for the sedation needle in my pocket. I feel so bad doing this, but in the end it'll all work out for the better. I watch as she begins to scale the wall. Lucas shoots the dart gun in her direction missing at first. Now she knows we are here and she's moving faster. He shoots again hitting her hand. She loses her grip and lands on her feet, whipping around to see us, but I'm already on her tail. She begins to run, but I grasp onto her loose hoodie. She punches me in the stomach, and for a minute she gets away, but Lucas hits her with another dart in her leg and she trips, tumbling on the ground. I get her pinned on the ground in seconds, and Jayden holds her arms down. Lucas pulls his own syringe and stabs her in the neck, and her eyes close within seconds. I take a deep breath and gather my surroundings. That all felt like seconds, though apparently according to the clock it was almost 15 minutes. It was probably all the running and stuff that took longer than expected. Jayden takes care of carrying her, and it takes about 5 minutes until we find Paris down the street. We place her in the back, tying her hands and legs together. I sit in the back with her and realize we never updated everyone.

"We have her," I say breathlessly. "We have her, uninjured. We'll be at the motel in 45 to an hour."

The ride home is long and no one talks. Mae said they are ready for us at the motel and Mack, Hayden and Harper have laid out several hints, some misleading some not. Lucas tries to make small talk in the car, but it all feels so awkward and forced, that we resolve to sit in silence. We don't get back to the airbnb until almost 11, and Indie is already beginning to wake up as we get her... settled in. Mae sits to the side as we tie her up, and everyone puts a mask on except her. She doesn't need to, and she doesn't want to. So why should she. We all sit around waiting for her to wake up. At first you can tell she's awake, but doesn't open her eyes. Mae's head rests on my chest, and I can feel her shaking slightly as time goes on. When Indie wakes up around 11:30, she looks at each of us silently.

"Nice to see you sis," she says smirking. She doesn't seem the least bit threatened or at least if she does, doesn't show it. "I assume this is the infamous Griffin you're sleeping on right now." I look down at Mae who is starting to stand up. Everyone else stays where they are, and she walks right up to Indie.

"All my pleasure. Sis," she says using a fake girly tone I never hear from her. "How's the wedding going?" she asks, staring right at the huge diamond on her Indie's finger. Mae told me about her engagement and that's one thing she's sad she's missing.

"Quite great actually," she says. This conversation seems so normal, I'm surprised how calm they both are. "I would love to get back to planning it if you could just let me out of here." Mae flashes her teeth.

"Of course big sis," she says, "so since we are going to be here a while, how's the fam?" Mae sits on the wooden chair just to the left of Indiana. Indie smiles up at her, and they exchange some unspoken words as everyone watches.

"How's the good guy life?" she asks back. Mae smiles, glancing over at me.

"Quite spectacular actually," she starts, "who knew living a normal life in a normal, not forced relationship, can lead to... well some wonderful things." Indie glances over at me, and I feel like the mask is unnecessary given she's probably seen pictures.
