"You're turning eighteen next month, do you have plans?"
"Is it a good thing to celebrate after this long-due tragedy?" I asked, while folding some of my clothes that I will be bringing home.
Daddy sighed and sitted on my bed, "But it's your birthday. It's your special day for us. Matagal naming hinintay 'to, anak.."
I sighed and shook my head and looked at him, "Daddy, I have no plans.."
"Faith, that's your eighteenth birthday! Debut mo!" "I would suggest to throw a huge party! Engrande!
"As much as I want a grand entourage and an elegant birthday party, simple one is better and safer.." Sabi ko.
"You're still worried, aren't you?
I asked.
She pressed her lips. "Mas ligtas sa Pilipinas. We have larger teams, more men to look after us.."
"You look like you're not going home.
Aniya at nag gesture pa siyang yuyuko.
"We can't force her with our ideas.. She was hurt and in pain. She already did us a favor and that is going back to Manila, kung pipilitin pa natin baka mamaya hindi na 'yan sumama pauwi.." And I shut the door.
Mabilis ko ding inayos ang sarili ko. I wore a simple sweatpants, tube top and oversized jacket. Comfy clothes for an 18-hour flight.
"Are you sure you wanna come home?" She asked me with sincerity.
"Yes, Mom.." I answered.
"I hope you didn't not agreed just because of my career and your daddy's work.." She said.
Umiling ako at lumapit sa kanya. I hugged her tight. I understand my Mom and where she's coming. Iniisip nga nilang napipilitan ako.
"I agreed because I want answers. I agreed because I want all these to stop. Nasa Pilipinas ang sagot, wala po dito. The longer we stay here, the longer this will take to end.." I said and Mommy nodded sadly.
Playing as a bait, Richela and I decided to flew first.
Pati sina Mommy?" Rich asked while we're comfortably sitting on our assigned seat in the plane.
