and i hit 2k reads a few chapters back, and i keep forgetting to thank you guys for keeping up with this story. also, thank you for being more active now. i appreciate it.

He just stared at me, as I stared back at him with an almost angry look, but also an almost soft look, as there was a most likely possibility that he had gotten bored of me already. He kept my gaze, not answering my question. I was losing patience. He kept staring at me, with an unreadable look in his eyes, and I had the urge to ask him to answer my question, but I didn't, knowing that I'd probably lose it. He then changed his facial expression, his eyebrows scrunching up together, and from the corner of my eye, I could see Madison giving me a sly smile.

I thought that her sly smile was a confirmation that they had been sleeping around with each other again, as I was not around Jack, but when Jack tilted his head back, letting out a laugh, I wasn't sure.

It was my turn to scrunch my eyebrows together, and stare, confused at his reaction. I didn't see what was so funny.

He laughed for a few more seconds, before looking at me again. "Did you think-" he laughed again, not being able to finish his sentence. He started to speak again, but only ended up laughing again. He cleared his throat a while later, seeming to finally stop laughing, at whatever the heck it was that amused him so much, and spoke again, "We're not," he pointed at Madison and him, "We're not together, if that's what you think."

"Why were you upstairs with her? Alone?" I added.

"Jack and I are working on a song with her, like management suggested. Jack just went to open the door. No need to be jealous," he laughed, teasing me.

"I was not," I stated, knowing clearly that I was. How I always cringe inside when I see Madison, especially around Jack, and how I just grew a strong dislikeness towards her. But I was never going to admit that I was in front of Jack.

"Whatever you say, babe," he said with an amused tone, wrapping his arms around me, giving me a wet kiss on the cheek.

I pushed him away, annoyed with how pleased he was about this how situation, while I felt slightly embarrassed by it. I felt as if I was some overly obsessive girlfriend, that always kept track of their boyfriend, interrogating him every time he hung out with a girl.

But you can never be too sure with Jack, right?

I stole a glance at Madison, and I noticed her staring at me and Jack, giving me a stink eye, but when she realized I was looking at her, she smiled. It wasn't just a smile, but it was an amused smile. Something about it made me feel uneasy.

----------

We were at some party at Jack's friend's house, Cameron - I think that was his name. It was a 'farewell before you have to leave for tour again' kind of party.

Jack led me through the house, his arms placed securely on my hips, and I liked the feeling of it. It made me feel warm inside whenever he would glare at any guy that even dared to sneak a glance at me, and pull me closer to him, claiming that I was his. It made me feel as if he really did like me.

He stopped in front of a guy, around 6 foot, maybe even taller, with brown hair, tousled to the side, as it lay high on his head. He was quite attractive too, with a nice smile, and since he's wearing a short-sleeved shirt, I could make out his muscles, and could tell that he had a built body.

"Hey man," Jack greeted.

"You made it!" the guy, who I assumed was Cameron, by now, exclaimed.

"Of course," Jack said, giving the guy a bro-hug.
