“Alyssa,” Sammy called for me as he laid on my bed, watching me as I threw various stuff out of my suitcase, trying to look for the best outfit to wear on Jack and I’s date tonight.

I was worried, scared, confused, and all these other emotions that I don’t even know of yet. From the day at the club, I had refused to go out to party more with Kaylie, especially not with Jack there. I knew something was wrong, I could sense it. I could sense how everything had changed in what seemed like a snap of finger, as the hair at the back of my neck rose, and his voice so serious, so serious into hurting me at anytime.

I don’t know what had caused this change, but the scene of the club and constant partying had to have done something. Something had to told me that it was Kaylie, that she was the reason behind all of this. I mean, the change in him again had started after Kaylie had arrive.

“Alyssa,” Sammy called out to me again.

I turned around to face him, holding a red strapless dress. “Is this okay?” He didn’t answer my question, but just plainly stared at me. “It’s not, huh?” I threw the dress somewhere behind me, rummaging through my suitcase again, trying to find the perfect outfit. “What was I thinking. It was too red, and stands out too much. We want to left alone. And it was too long anyway. I could’ve tripped or something, and ruin the whole date.”

“Alyssa!” Sammy screamed at me this time.

“What?!” I whipped around fast, on my feet, almost slipping on the slippery tiled-floors. My hands found it’s way to my forehead, and I wiped away all the strands of hair that fell in my face, pulling it back.

“Stop stressing out.”

“I’m not. I just have to find the right outfit, so nothing goes wrong.”

He rolled his eyes at me, and swung his feet over, to the side of the bed. He got on his feet, and made his way towards me, placing his hands on each of my shoulder. “Your clothes,” his said, eyeing my messy suitcase, “will not determine whether Jack will act out or not.”

“What?”

“Don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about. I know for damn sure that you’re scared as hell whenever you’re with him now. I see how you bounce your leg, when you guys our sitting next to each, with his arms around you. I see how you’re hesitate in everything you do when you’re around him. I can literally see the nerves that come out from inside you.”

I looked away from his intense gaze, staring at the designs on the walls behind him instead. “Alyssa, you have tell him, before he hurts you more emotionally or even physically.”

I shook my head, eyes averting to the ground beneath me. “He won’t hurt me,” I whispered, half-certain of my words.
