Beautiful Disaster

Ch.23

By the time we woke up both of our mothers were gone. I checked my phone and saw a text from my mother saying she got called into the hospital because of an accident and didn't know when she would be back.

I checked the time on the op of my screen and saw that it was 8:20pm.

Rolling out from Alec's embrace I made my way downstairs to make dinner for the both of us. I looked through the cabinet for something to make before decided on making pasta.

Hooking my phone up to the speaker dock we kept in the kitchen I shuffle my playlist and turn the volume down so the sound won't echo through the house and potentially wake Alec up.

Humming, I start boiling the water and taking the marinara sauce out of the fridge. When the food was almost done I hear footsteps coming from behind me and notice Alec walking into the kitchen.

"Hey. You hungry?" I say while making plates for both of us.

"Starving. Thank you." He says while grabbing the plate I handed to him.

We head to the dining room table and eat in a comfortable silence until Alec decides to break it.

"The house seems really quiet. Where's your mom?"

"Hospital called her in. She said there was an accident on the road." Shrugging I take the last bite of my food then washed it down with a gulp of water.

"Do you want me to stay the night?" He said while looking down at his empty plate. Furrowing my eyebrows I take another gulp of water before answering.

"You always stay the night Alec. When have you ever asked me if I wanted you to stay?" He shrugs in response. "I'll wash the dishes so don't worry." He murmurs picking up both our plates and heading to the kitchen. Sighing I pick up both or glasses and join him in the kitchen. Placing the glasses in the sink I hop on the counter next to the sink.

"Alec whatever happened that night that you refuse to tell me just.. let it go, okay? We're good now and let's just let it go. I can't even freaking remember what happened but just by how you been acting I know I wouldn't want to talk about it anyways so let's just move on alright." He stops washing off the plate and looks at me for a second then goes back to the dishes.

"Okay. Why don't I finish up here and then we can watch a movie? Go pick a movie out I'll be done in a second." Nodding, I get off the counter and go into the living room.

Deciding that I was in the mood for a scary movie tonight I started looking through our horror dvds. Hearing Dina's personalized FaceTime ringtone I answer the phone and position it against the wall.

"Hey Girly. What are we doing tonight?" Scoffing, I roll my eyes while still looking through the dvds.

"We aren't doing anything traitor. Mom is stuck at the hospital and Alec's here. We're about to watch a movie."

"Ooo what movie? Wait.. Marco get dressed we're going to Skylers house." Pausing my actions I look at the screen.

"How are you just going to invite yourselves to my house? You totally just threw me to the wolves earlier." Seeing her roll her eyes she muttered something along the lines of 'so dramatic' but i chose to ignore it.

"We'll be there in 20. We're bringing snacks too." She says while getting settled in what looked like a truck. "See you in a few love you bye." She says before abruptly hanging up on me.

Staring at the phone for a few more seconds I hear Alec walk into the living room. "Why are you looking at your phone like that?" He says while sitting on the couch.
