Ch.37

As the night went all we talked about old memories and spent the time catching up. Sometimes my gaze would catch Alec's and I would stick my tongue out at him but the one time he was looking away I took a chance to look at him.

He had convinced me it was a good idea to do this and I had him to thank for this. He was currently smiling and as if he knew I was staring he looked at me. This time he stuck his tongue out at me and by the time 10pm rolled around Dina and I decided it was time for me to sing to end this night off.

"Okay okay. The night is coming to an end so I've decided a song could end it perfectly. He said I should pick my guitar up so that's exact what I'm doing." I grab my guitar from behind me and position my fingers on the cords. "Believe it or not it took us a while to decide on the song but this seems like a perfect fit since this is his favorite song. Feel free to join if you know it." Closing my eyes I take a breathe I start strumming the cords.

Soon my mom, Dina and even my dad started singing once they realized what I was playing.

By this time even Carter and Marco joined in as well. I was surprised Carter knew the song but it just showed how much he still remembered about Caleb.

When the song finished everyone clapped and we all smiled but my eyes found one specific person who was already staring at me.

Looking at him I started to wish I'd met him sooner.

To wish that Carter cheated on me sooner so I could find him.

To wish that whatever we had, was real.

But why was I thinking this you may ask? Well because as I watched him smile I realized I would never get sick of seeing it. I realized that the pounding in my chest wasn't from being out of breathe because of the singing.

No, it was because of this wonderful human being I had the opportunity to meet a few months ago. The wonderful human being who's managed to make me fall in love with him. The wonderful human being who was now one of my favorite people.
