After finishing the movie we tossed around the idea of going into town and checking out the mall but we all decided we were too lazy and would rather stay in.
I was still in Alec's arms and we were playing 21 questions. Marco said it was to properly get to know each other seeing as we were heavily drunk the first time. The conversation was going smoothly and I even noticed Dina smiling at Marco a few times.
At least they were on good terms again. I'd hate to have to attend a funeral rather than a thanksgiving dinner. I thought to myself.
"Okay favorite summer memory?" Marco asks.
"Oh that's easy. It was that summer when Grandma Bonnie took us to the carnival and we got lost inside the room of mirrors." I snort.
"What part of that horrifying day was fun? The part where we got lost or the part where we cried because a big clown face just popped up? Lets not forget the fact that Grandma Bonnie didn't even realize we were missing until a hour later." I say incredulously.
"But she did get us those big cinnamon pretzels to make up for it." She smiles and I give her a 'are you kidding me' look. "Okay nevermind. That day wasn't particularly great. Let me try again." Dina says laughing. I hold up my hand to stop her.
"Let me think. Hmm." I pause thinking and I smile at the memory I recalled. "My favorite summer memory was when mom and dad organized that summer fest thing for the kids on the street." And upon hearing that Dina's face lit up.
"Oh my god, I totally forgot about that. That was the first time you performed in front of an actual audience. You almost peed your pants that day." She says laughing.
"Performed?" Alec and Marco say in unison.
"Yeah. That summer her parents planned this whole carnival to get kids outside. They had games, food and they even had a little stage. They had people perform and then everyone would vote and the person with the most votes won. My mom created this big trophy and painted it. It was amazing." And it truly was. It was the summer before everything fell apart.
"What did you perform? I bet you were a ballerina, weren't you?" He teased.
"Ha ha. No." I deadpan.
"She sang." Dina said.
"You sing?" Alec asks surprised.
"Not anymore."
"No offense but I'm going to assume you sucked then?" Marco says. This made Dina laugh while I shook my head.
"Far from it actually." I laugh.
"Skyler won the trophy that summer. Her voice is amazing. Sometimes I wish she did still sing. I miss hearing her voice." I furrow my eyebrows while she softly smiles at me.
"Okay, now I want to hear this. Come on Sugar, get up and amaze me with your talent." Alec says pushing me up.
"No thank you." I say but he decides to completely ignore me as he broke out in a chant. The chant consisted of 'Su-gar plum' and soon the other two bodies started to join in.
Narrowing my eyes at my traitor of a best friend I tell them I can't sing without my guitar so I can't perform at all.
You would think that lie would work though right? Well wrong because next thing I knew Marco was leaving and coming back with a black colored guitar in his hand.
"Do you just walk around with a guitar?" I say incredulously.
"Yes now here you go." I shake my head and gently take the guitar from him. I look at it then back at the three idiots looking at me. I assured them I wasn't singing a full song and they all said okay.
