Beautiful Disaster

Ch.34

"We can actually do it in my backyard. I have a lot of space here and we can make a nice set up. It'll be great." I say to Carter over the phone.

"Can I invite coach? He was the one who actually gave me the idea."

"Yeah of course. I'll set everything up else and let my mom know about the idea."

"Okay. Thank you for letting me come."

"You don't have to thank me. I'll text you."

"Alright bye."

"Bye Carter." I say before hanging up.

"So when did you and Mr.Douchebag become best friends again?" I hear a voice say behind me. Turning around I come face to face with my lovely best friend.

It was the weekend and Dina has decided to have an impromptu sleepover and movie night at my house. I, of course said yes but what I didn't realize was Marco and Alec were going to tag along as well. Well actually more like I didn't know Marco was coming.

I didn't mind though because not only did I love our little group my mom was working a overnight shift and I hated being alone. So it was a win-win situation all around.

"We're not. We've just decided to plan a memorial this year for Caleb. That's it." I say grabbing the popcorn out the microwave.

"You sure?" She says.

"What do you mean am I sure? What other reason could there be for me to be talking to him Dina?" I asks and she shrugs her shoulders.

"I don't know. I saw you guys at New Years and you haven't talked to me about a memorial for Caleb but you're talking to Carter? Then Alec told me about the mall the other day."

"He told you about what?" I say making her stop talking immediately.

"Well he didn't really tell me but he told Marco and I just so happened to be with him while they were on the phone. Marco asked me if I knew what was going on and I told him it was probably a misunderstanding but I don't know." She says with a shrug of her shoulders again.

"I ran into him at the mall. End of story." I say before grabbing the now filled popcorn bowl and walking to the living. "And since everyone is so concerned with who I talk to let me make something clear. The only reason I'm talking to Carter was because we've decided to hold a campfire in the backyard for Caleb that's it. So I would appreciate if people didn't speculate about my love life behind my back anymore." I say once I reach the living room.

"Dude!" I hear Alec say to Marco with wide eyes.

"I swear I didn't say anything it was Dina." Says Marco.

I roll my eyes.

"Sugarplum I wasn't speculating. I just was curious since you guys seem to always be having some sort of conversation lately." Alec says.

"Well don't be curious and just ask. There is nothing and will never be nothing going on between Carter and I. I've already been there and done that and we all know how that story ended." I say.

"Okay.. but go back to the campfire idea." Dina says.

"So we've decide to have the correct memorial service he never got. We can buy his favorite snacks, play his favorite songs and tell some stories. This year I want to do something special rather than the 5 second clip of them showing his face saying RIP on the news."

"You already know I'm in. Just let me know what I need to do and I'll do it." She says giving me a soft smile.

"I'm in too." I heard Alec say and my eyes jump straight to his but before I could say anything Marco speaks up.
