"Why are your eyes blue, like the zombie's?" Jimin inquired.
The question begging to be asked had been thrown out there, waiting for an answer.
And an answer they got.
"Well, it's a long story..." Minha began. Eyeing for a spot to sit, Jimin had noticed and gestured for her to sit.
Because if your in for a good story, why not have the storyteller sit? Especially for the kind Minga was about to tell them.
"Please, tell us. We have all the time in the world." Both Jimin and Tae had said, at the same time.
This must have given Minha a shock, because the moment she sat down, she'd jumped back a bit and grabbed at her chest in attempt to calm her shaking heart.
"O-ok... you really scared me with that..." Minha said, taking deep breaths in attempt at calming her heartrate.
And with that, both Jimin and Tae leaned in for the story, eyes glistening with curiosity.
I mean, yes, they are adults, but come on. Who doesn't like a good story once in a while? Especially with their circumstances and situations. Not to mention all the stress from everything all at once, pilung up into a huge ball of anxiety.
"Ok, well..." Minha started, watching as they both were engrossed in the story she was about to tell, as well as keeping a watchful eye on the zombie that had been lying on the ground, endlessly staring at nothing.
"I-it began with my father telling me I had a dentist appointment to go to." Minha began, tears beginning to build up and threatening to fall at her remembering her horrible past.
"As soon as we'd gotten to the car, my father began driving us to what I assumed was going to be the dental clinic. But then he took a turn to a part of town I had no idea existed. It was like the rest of town, but looked more down and decrepit, like you might imagine. Once we'd gotten to a building that looked ragged on the outside, my father had stopped the car, gotten me out, and we both headed inside, me questioning why every five seconds." Minha continued, looking up from the ground to find the two slack-jawed at her story.
Oh, but they had yet to hear the worst of it.
So she continued on, "We'd both went inside, and my father handed me over to the scientists there. I kept begging and crying for my father to come back as soon as he started walking away from me. Of course, I kept trying to wrack my way out of the scientists' iron grip, but of course, nothing. I kept crying and crying for my father to take me home with him, but he never looked back at me once he started walking away," Minha looked up once again.
Both of them had tears spilling out from their eyes, but this time, the zombie had been looking at her with that piercing gaze.
But why?
She couldn't tell what kind of expression it wore, but she knew something was off, different about this zombie versus all the other ones she's seen up till now.
Continuing, Minha said "And as soon as my father was out of my sight and out of the building, the scientists had taken me to a room with chairs that looked very similar to dental chairs. They'd strapped my wrists, and I wasn't able to struggle as I was only so young and very frail. By the time they'd finished strapping me in, I was as silent as I'd ever been or even thought I could be. After I'd calmed down, they'd taken a tray with a syringe that had a blue tinted vile in it, and put it in my arm. From then on, I've never been the same." Minha had finished.
Jimin and Tae were shaken, but the zombie had a very odd look on it's face.
But why would it? Could they have been connected somehow?
