Chapter 52: Tapes

As Jimin, Tae and Minha were throwing papers and things on the floor in the quest to find any relevant information on Jungkook's subject, they'd finally stumbled upon a tape recording in a square metal case, with tape sealing it shut that read:

K-56 plant explosion

"What's this?" Jimin had asked Minha, eyeing the case she held.

"I think we just found they key to Jungkook's bite." Minha announced, holding the case carefully, examining the dull metal of the case, reading the tape.

"Great! Let's find something we can play this in." Tae suggested, eyes darting everywhere in the room to find what they needed to view the tape.

"Oh, here! I found something we can use to play it!" Tae shouted, carefully scurrying across the room to get to the player, mindful of how littered and dirty the floor was.

Tae had pointed out the tape player, pointing to the dusted over machine, letting Jimin and Minha have a chance at seeing it before they needed to operate it, somehow using the power from the building.

"Great, but how are we gonna play it. We don't have any power or electricity to use it." Minha stated, givibg a huge sigh of disappointment at the loss of elecricity.

Yes, it was a given they wouldn't have power or electricity to use the machine, but if they could somehow find a source, even with barely any in it, they would be able to view to old looking tape, and view the contents it held within.

Minha just didn't want to waste time with trying to find any, but she knew it was a vital part in their investigation, so she'd ultimately decided to give in, helping her friends find the answers they so desperately wanted.

And yes, she wanted to find out how everything started, but putting her friends before her was more valued than her figuring out everything on her end, and she was glad that she'd become the type of person she did, despite how she was raised -or rather, grown up.

"We'll need to try and find a plugin for the player" Jimin stated, eyes searching everywhere for said item "That's the only way we'll be able to view this, figure out everything that's happened and why." He finished.

"Right. Then we can piece everything together. Catch them red handed." Tae said, searching the walls and floors for some kind of plugin or outlet.

"Found one!!!" Minha shouted, shoving away all the paperwork amd cables blocking them from using it.

"Good. Now we just need to plug the machine in and see what it shows, if there's anything we can derive from it." Jimin said, blowing the thin layer of dust off of the socket.

At that, after Jimin had blown the dust off of it, precenting it from working if it did work, Minha had plugged in the cord of the machine, watching the front of it light up, the screen displaying a very dull 'on'.

"It works!!" Tae jumped in victory.

"Good!! Now we can see if there's anything important on it." Jimin reacted dully, but mainly because he knew it might actually turn on.

And yes, he knew that there was a huge chance of it not working, there being no power or elecricity for the most part, but he's glad there had been at least enough power and electricity for it to actually work.

That's the part that he was glad about.

The part he'd dreaded was filing through everything they would or could manage to find because that woyld mean spending even longer than necessary time outside of their sanctuary, furthering the chances of them being discovered by someone, or multiple people.

He didn't want to keep going through things, only to have then interrupted, so they'd decided it best to go through things as quickly as possible.

They needed to investigate more.

It was a calm morning, wind blowing gently in the green trees not yet illuminated by the glowing beams of the sun illuminating the leaves in blinding light.

In short, it was exactly 5:30 when Jimin had woken up, not thrilled by the time that his body had woken him up, naturally, of course.
