Chapter 68: After

"I love you." Jimin stated, watching how Jungkook's pupils had myseriously gotten slightly wider, skin gaining more color at the sudden but welcome confession.

Jimin had wondered what about him had brought the zombie back to life all of a sudden.

He wondered what all of it had meant. When, why, and how his show of love had Jungkook turning back human.

He had thought that this could've been reversed by the viles that Minha had been injected with, seeing as how she and Jungkook both had very similar characteristics, but thought different as soon as he remembered the chemicals that had leaked through the plant as it exploded.

As he thought more on it, it seemed like the vile that Minha had been injected with had caused her to be something between the mix of a zombie and human, not necessarily undead, but something along the lines of it.

On the other hand, it seemed like the zombie that had bit Jungkook had given him the power of persuasion, because at the time of the zombie blocking them on the road Jimin had only seen Jungkook just giving the other zombie the eye, not knowing about the conversation they'd had in their minds. It had also seemed like something in Jungkook's DNA had done something to him, causing him to turn back into a human as Jimin had confessed his feelings for the zombie that was Jungkook.

Which he honestly found weirdly intriguing, because never in his life had he known about something like that happening.

But he decided not to dwell on those thoughts as he'd remembered their current situation.

That they needed to go back with Suga and Jhope who held the thrashing man in place as best they could while they had talked about what Namjoon and the rest of the government their would do with the unknown man as they decided quietly in a group what was in the unknown man's future.

"Jungkook, we need to go with them. We need to be there so we can tell them exactly what happened between all of this and what a fitting punishment would be." Jimin began, grabbing lightly at Jungkook's arm as if to tell him they needed to get a move on, otherwise they would be stuck here at night.

Where the horde was.

Frankly, Jimin had been quite shocked that no stragglers had made their way into the building.

Especially with all the noise and racket being made as the two officials had shown up, stating themselves and then proceeding to gather the man that was in questioning.

"Y-yea-h. Le-t's go..." Jungkook had replied, getting his languid myscles in his feet to work, but this time with more consciousness than last time.

Or the past few times, in fact.

"I t-thin-k... you-'re c-hanging... me J-Jimin..." Jimin had heard Jungkook suddenly state, still wondering what about him had the then undead zombie change back into a human. Albeit different than what the other's were, or had been.

"Forget about that right now, Jungkook. We need to meet back up with Minha and Tae, see what they're up to." Jimin responded, silently urging Jungkook forward.

Jimin began peering around the corner, watching intently for signs of life as he'd rounded the corner, inching forward foot by foot.

He kept on, Jungkook following close behind as they made their way back, ears picking up faint chatting.

"Found 'em." Jimin thought, as he continued forward, bringing Jungkook back with him.

As Jimin continued, he found Minha and Tae just chatting away, small sounds of struggle emanating from the cracked open door down the far length of the hallway.

"Your back guys!!! I was wondering what took so long." Tae had shouted, eyes wide with excitement, Minha giving a soft smile.

It was only a matter of time before they found out what would happen.

Sorry if this chapter was boring. It was a little hard to switch from writing Race Against Extinction to this.
