YOUR POV
6 years goes by fast when you are floating in space. A bunch of people, including myself, are going to a strange alien planet, Pandora. My friend Jake has accompanied me on the trip. His brother, Tom, was supposed to come- Tom was my best friend since kindergarten. We both wanted to come to Pandora. After studying all through college and grad school just to get here, he was shot just a week before we were going to be shipped out. His brother Jake is a nice guy though. We were close, but not as close as me and Tommy. Except Jake was stupid and knew nothing about the Na'vi.
We were released from our capsules and a doctor checked a strange IV type contraption on my arm. I look to my left to see Jake getting out of his capsule too. "Hey Jake. Ride go smoothly?"
"Meh, it was tiring. Yours?"
"Considering I was asleep for most of the time, it was quite peaceful."
We continued to make small talk as we floated to our lockers. Sully T. was written in big white print across the front of his locker. A pang sadness echoes through my heart in the quiet chatter of the barrack.
~~~~~~
We were lined up.
"EXO packs on! Get your EXO packs on! If you lose that mask, you're unconscious in 20 seconds- dead after five! Let no soldiers be lost today. Doesn't look good on a report!"
I stood next to Jake and slipped my mask on. We flew over boundless forests, then came up to what looked like some sort of mine- very daunting. We descended to the base as the same guy from earlier called out, "Lets go. Lets go! Directly into the base, do not stop. Straight inside, wait for my mark."
As the doors opened, all of the passengers were looking curious to see if they could get a glimpse of the outside. As the guy ushered the people out, I waited for Jake to get out his wheelchair. We have a that in common. While Jake was paralysed from waist down in war, I was just missing an arm from when it got a deadly infection and they had to cut it off. Jake and I walked, well, rolled out of the ship and ran over to the base. We took it all in, no words needed between the two of us. People gave Jake and I sideways glances as we walked past. I wasn't paying attention and almost got squashed by one of the giant mining trucks. Why are there arrows in the wheels? Weird.
~~~~~~
"You're not in Kansas anymore." a guy dressed in camo and big combat boots stated. "You're on Pandora ladies and gentlemen. Respect that fact every second of every day. If there is a hail, you might want to go there for some R&R after a tour on Pandora. Out there, beyond that fence, every living thing that crawls, flies or squats in the mud wants to kill you and eat your eyes for Jujubes. We have an indigenous population of humanoids called the Na'vi. They're fond of arrows dipped in a neurotoxin that will stop your heart in one minute. And they have bones reinforced with naturally occuring carbon fiber. They are very hard to kill. As head of security it is my job to keep you alive. I will not succeed."
I don't like this guy. I bet he's never smiled in his life. I tried to hold back a laugh as I pictured this guy as a baby, with that same scowl. Now he was talking about more "Pandora rules," so I just zoned out and looked out the window at the scenery.

"Hey (Y/N), Jake."
I recognized the voice from class. "NORM!" I practically screamed as I jumped on him in an enormous hug.
"Heh, it's nice to see you too (Y/N). You're Jake right? Wow. You look just like him. I'm Norm. Spellman. I went through Avatar training with Tom and (Y/n)." Norm said shaking Jake's hand.
Norm showed Jake and I into the bio lab. As Norm was trying to point out all of the rooms, I saw Jake look in wonder at the Avatars. Another scientist greeted Jake and I and he guided us to the Avatars.
"Damn, they got big!" Jake sighed.
"Yeah, they fully mature on on the flight out."
As Norm and the other scientist were talking about the Avatars, I wandered around until I saw a female Avatar. She looked just like me. It had a real arm though, unlike me. I'm not gonna have to use the prosthetic when I'm in my Avatar body.... yes! If only Tom could have seen this. He would've had a field day! I turned around and saw Tom's Avatar. I guess it was Jake's now. It looked just like Tom to the point that I could almost 100% recall the first day of Avatar training.
"Come on, (Y/N)! Last one to the classroom is a rotten egg!" Tommy exclaimed.
"Get ready to be rotten, Na'vi boi!" I called after him
I giggled at the memory. Jake also marveled at his Avatar, maybe thinking the same thing. "Looks like him" Jake breathed out after a while.
"No, looks like you, Jake. This is your Avatar now," I responded. I received a smile in response.
Norm is making us video log now- it's very annoying. I know it's for research, but that doesn't mean that I can't hate it.
~~~~~~
"They're coming out," a woman called, and just like that all of the Avatar link bays opened up. Then I saw her. The Grace Augustine! Tom would have been fangirling so hard right now. Jake looked over at me in my fangirling state and tried to figure out who the woman was. Norm knew what was going on, so he explained to Jake.
Max as he turned said, "Here she is, Cinderella back from the ball. Grace, I'd like you to meet Norm Spellman, (Y/N) (Y/L/N), and Jake Sully."
"Norm, (Y/N) I hear good things about you two. How's your Na'vi?" Grace greeted us.
"May the All Mother smile upon our first meeting." Norm said in almost perfect Na'vi.
"We are pleased to be in your presence," I quickly said, remembering training.
"Not bad. You two sound a little formal," she critiqued.
"I studied for 5 years, she had been studying her entire life." Norm replied with a chuckle.
"There is still much to learn, Norm." I joked. I rolled my eyes, shoving him a little.
Grace smiled at our actions, until Max ruined the moment by introducing Jake. Grace's smile dropped as she scowled at Jake. "Yeah I know who you are, and I don't need you. I need your brother. You know the PhD who trained for three years for this mission?"
"He's dead. I know it's a big inconvenience for everyone." Jake acknowledged.
"How much lab training have you had?" Grace asked.
Crap. I know where this is going. He pulled this in front of my advanced biology teacher in college when she asked the same thing. Don't say it Jake.
"I dissected a frog once." He said it. I facepalmed so hard that Norm asked if I was okay. Grace and Max squabble until Grace left with a huff. Max turned around and looked at us, "See you guys tomorrow, 0800. Try and use big words."
THIRD POV
A control center was in view and many people were bustling around. Enter Parker Selfridge, playing golf with his coffee cup. "I love this putter Ronnie! I love this putter."
Grace was walking down the hall wearing a scowl. "Parker, as you know, I used to think it was benign neglect, but now I see that you're intentionally screwing me."
