Chapter 106 - Ambulance

Taytum's POV:
We are now back in Exeter. Henry took Eleanor to school this morning for me. I stayed in bed and rested for sometime of the day.

Henry's POV:
I took Eleanor to school today. I let Taytum sleep in and rest. I wore my training kit as I was going to training after taking Eleanor to school. I bought her into her classroom. I gave her a kiss and a hug then I waved her good bye. "Your Henry Slade who plays for Exeter Chiefs?" Someone behind me said. I turned around. "Yeah." I said. It was a school boy. "Can I have a photo please." He asked nicely. "Sure thing." I bent down to his level and we took the photo. I said bye to him and walked out to my car.

I drove to Sandy Park and went to the changing room. "Sladey, you and Sam have been picked to do an interview for someone in a bit." Jack said as he walked up to me. "Ok." I said putting my things down and going out to the pitch where Sam was waiting for me. I walk up and say hi to them. They began the interview.

Exeter are playing Saracens for the next game. How will you prepare for the game?

Sam: Practice for hours. Gym time. All that stuff.
Henry: Give it all our best shot and see if we win on the day.

Who goes to the gym a lot?

Sam: Him or Jack Nowell.
Henry: That's probably true.

The nerd of the club?

Sam: Him.
Henry: But how. We're all pretty dumb.
Sam: Just you in general.

Any hidden talents?

Sam: Not really but Luke C.D can play table tennis.
Henry: Very good table tennis player. For myself none to be honest.

Dance moves?

*both get up and show their moves off*

Anything special going to happening?

Sam: Hopefully win the next game.
Henry: I'm going to be a dad again in a month.

We left the interview and began to train.

Taytum's POV:
I got out of the bed and slowly walked downstairs. I made some food to eat. Henry had training so I was by myself for the day. I cleaned up and packed stuff away. I got tired easily so I sat down. I watched TV for a while. My phone began to ring.

Hello.
Hi, is this Mrs Slade.
Yes speaking.
We have Eleanor here. She has had an accident with another class mate. He ran towards her in the playground. He lost balance and his head went on her stomach area as they fell.
Right. Is she ok?
That's the thing. She is saying her stomach hurts. At first I thought it was just going to be a bruise but now she is screaming saying it hurts.
I'll be right over.
I've called an ambulance just in case it's bad.
Thank you tell her that I'm on my way.
Sure. Bye.
Bye.

I hung up the phone and race out of the door. I phoned Henry. "Pick up Henry." I said as it kept ringing. It went straight to voice mail. I rang his phone again. This time he picked up.

Hello.
Hey babe, is everything ok?
It's Eleanor.
Oh. What's happened?
She had an accident with another class mate and is screaming in pain. An ambulance is on the way.
I'm on my way.

I heard shuffling in the background. Then Henry spoke up. "Sorry I have to go. My daughter had an accident." He said. I heard him running and then he started his car engine.

I need you to breath. I will meet you there.
Ok. I'm just worried.
I know so am I. I'm nearly there. See you in a bit.
Me too. Bye.
Bye.

I walked as fast as I could into the school and into her classroom. I got to her side and held her in my arms. "Mommy, it hurts." She said. She was in pain. The paramedics came rushing over and sorted her out. I walked with her so I was by her side. Henry came just before she got put in the ambulance. I gave him a hug. "Your her dad. I think you should go in the ambulance with her. I will meet you there." I said. Henry kissed my forehead then handed me his car keys. I waved goodbye and got in the car. I drove to the hospital.

I got the the A&E part of the hospital and saw Henry. He look really worried. "Where is she?" I asked. He took my hand and led me to another seating area. He kissed my forehead again. He had tears in his eyes. "She's gone in for surgery." He said. I broke down into tears. "Will she be ok?" I whimpered. "We don't know if she will." Henry said.
