Chapter 12- Reaction

Taytum's POV:
I think I need to tell Owen about my feelings for Henry. I walk into work the next day. "Jody can I ask you something?" I asked. "Yeah sure." She said. "Well yesterday I spent the day with Henry and we got to know each other really we. He is such a great guy..." I said. What I didn't realise Owen walked in by then. "I like Henry. I think I have feelings for him. When I am around him I get butterflies in my stomach as a good thing." I told Jody. "Umm Taytum behind you.." She told me.

I turned around to see Owen standing right there. I raised my hand to my mouth." So you like Henry then?" Owen said. "Yeah I kind of do. Don't tell him please. I will tell him but not right now." I said to Owen. "Yeah sure. But I need to process what I just heard." Owen said to me. He walked out but he didn't look so happy. I think I need to talk to him. I didn't want to hurt Owen's feelings but I would feel the same if he had feelings for a girl.

Me and Jody are in the room when the phone goes off. Jody answers it. "Hello."..."Yeah sure."..."Yep."..."We will be right there." She said down the phone. "Taytum there is a injury on the field so we need to go." Jody said as she grabbed a bag and so did I. We headed out the doors and onto the field to see George Ford lying on the floor. We jog over to him. "George what have you done this time?" I asked him. "My leg." He said. Jody handed him a water bottle and he took a drink. He was in pain I could tell by his facial expression. "Ok. So I'm going to move it for a bit." I said then touching his leg. I moved his leg for a while and managed to get him up. Jody grabbed the bags and walked back inside.

George had his arm around the back of my shoulders so I could support him when he walked. I got help from Ben Youngs to help George walk. We slowly walked to the big physio room next to the gym. It had multiple beds in and more physio's in. He sat on the bed and I called for someone to help him. I went back to the smaller physio room me and Jody work in. I walked in sat down. "George is getting help from someone else." I told Jody. "Yeah. You did good out there. Well done." She said. "Thank you." I said back.

"Oh um... Henry wanted me to give this to you because he couldn't find you." Jody said while handing me a piece of paper. I walked over to the bench and sat down to read the letter. It read:

Dear Taytum,

I don't know where to start. I wanted to tell you in person but I couldn't find you so this is the only way I could think of besides texting you. I thought this way was more smarter and formal.

It has been really nice to get to know you and I love learning things about you. We have bonded really well and I want to bond more. Over these past few days of spending it with each other I have started to fall in love. I don't want to get in the way of yours and Owen's friendship so this is the next best thing for now, I am going to go back down to Exeter and be there for a few weeks until game time. I leave later at 5pm if you want to say goodbye. I hope we can see each other again soon. I love you Taytum.

I had tears in my eyes after I read that. I got up and put the note back on the desk. "Are you alright?" Jody asked. "Yeah it is just what Henry wrote." I said. I look at the clock. It is 4:58pm and Henry is leaving. I run out of the room and down the corridor. I head straight for reception. I see him. "HENRY!" I shout. He turns around to face me. "I see you got my note." He said. Tears came to my eye's. "Yeah. I wanted to say goodbye." I tried to say.

By now tears where falling down my face. I was about to say something but Henry pulled me into a hug. "Bye Taytum I will miss you." He said. "I will miss you too." I said. We hugged for a few more minutes. "Henry I have to tell you something." I said. He looked at me. "I love you." I say. We hugged for the last time before he headed out the door back to Exeter. I headed back to the physio room and Jody said "Did you say it?"
