A month later, Valarie gazes angrily at the birthday cake she's spent hours cooking and decorating for her children's birthday. A flicker of light catches my eyes and I look up seeing a small flame in her hand.
'Whoa, Goddess of Anger, cool it,' I say as I put some decorations on the table. The flame disappears. I move to where the cake sits and look down at it then disappointingly at Valarie. I can't believe she was going to wreck it. After us spending years with no cake. She makes her first ever cake here she was going to ruin it.
'I know it is terrible.'
'Are you joking, you should make a business out of this,' I say.
'I operate on bodies, not cakes,' she says as she finally continues to finish off the cake.
'Valarie...it looks amazing. You've created a cake that is awesome enough for the both of them. So, give me a background story of the cake,' I say as I finally sit down.
'Raven please we know you don't care about me and my family's interest,' she says smiling gently. She watches me as I think about it. She's right. I don't.
'Um, Alia wants to be a dancer. Every time I have music on, she dances to the beat and it is the cutest thing ever. Nicholas is really into soccer. Alec was watching the game the other night and he was just about to put the twins to bed. He turned the Tv off. Nicholas death stared Alec. It was hilarious really.'
'Cute.'
'Yeah.' Val glances down at her cakes taking in what she actually made. One side is purple with music notes and ballet shoes and bits of glitter. All edible. The other side is green with soccer balls. The icing looks like grass and there even some soccer goals. Finally, a smile comes onto her face as she finally finishes decorating it.
'It looks amazing Val.'
She unexpectedly gives a small cry.
'Val...seriously it's beautiful,' I'm quick to reassure her.
'I know, I am just so happy but upset in the meantime.'
I laugh and grab the bag of decorations Valarie bought two weeks ago.
'Come on weirdo, we have decorations to put up,' I call out as I leave the room.
An hour later the backyard was finally ready for a kid's birthday party. I glance up as Loki and Thor walk towards Valarie. Time flies by when you're having fun.
'Where are the twins?' Loki asks as he slowly walks over to me.
'They are with their father, who should hopefully be here soon.'
'Never fear the devils are here,' Alec walks to the outdoor table with the two kids. Val takes Alia and holds her.
'So, who is actually coming today?' I ask while helping myself to some of the yummy looking food. Val smiles and laughs.
'Some of the kids from the pack and us and the Avengers,' Alec replies.
'You invited the Avengers?' Val tilts her head.
'When you were dead, Captain America helped me a lot. Black Widow looked after the twins some nights. Iron man helped with the house and planned the funeral.'
'Hm right ok,' a moment later Val blurts out, 'Wait do they know I am alive?'
'Yeah,' Alec laughs. A car pull up at the front of the house and Tony jumps out.
'You're actually alive,' he yells as he hugs Val. I instinctively move closer to my father.
He lets go and Nat hurries over. 'Thank god you are back.'
