Smirking, I float down to the ground as Thor yells my name. The crowd roars in response. My two ravens fly off into the air with my cloak as I walk out into the fighting ring. I crack my hands and the crowd yells louder in response. Thor announces my opponent and the crowd cheers in response but its not as loud.
'Just kidding,' Thor yells. 'Loki!' he shouts out and the stranger shifts into Loki. My father smirks at me and the crowd let out a half enthusiastic yell.
I laugh as I prepare myself.
'First one to drop the other using only their magic and no body illusions you two,' Thor tells us as he stands in the middle of the arena. Loki and I face each other both smirking our signature grin. Loki's eyes flash bright green and I only grin more. Thor runs out of the arena and yells to us to start from his seat. Loki vanishes and I spin out to the middle of the arena slowly circling. Then I hear the faint hiss of someone reappearing and quickly I spin around on one foot and throw a ball of magic at him. I hear him grunt and watch as he staggers back. I lower my other leg down to the ground and with a big smirk at him I disappear into emptiness. I prowl around the grounds until I come up behind him. Strangely Loki hasn't moved when all the sudden something hits me and I trip to the side. It pushes me out of the invisible realm and into the visible. I heard the crowd gasp as I stumble to find my balance. While I'm still stumbling I prepare a fake dagger, as no real weapons are allowed, spin around on my right foot, crouching down to the ground and throw. The dagger flies through the air. Everything slows down for me. All the sound disappears and I can see the surprise on Loki's face clear as daylight. The daggers spins in the air flashing in the sun like an ice diamond. Loki's hand slowly move up to stop the dagger then everything speeds up. The dagger hits him in the shoulder and he stumbles back. I stand up; the crowd cheers but it's not over. I run up at Loki and throw spell after spell at him with every shove of magic he stumbles back more until he's on the edges of the arena. I watch as he hunches over and I stand for a moment. Then his head shots back up with a small smirk he flashes into a puff of green and then something comes hitting me in the back. I fall to the ground hands out stretched to hit the ground. The moment I hit the ground I remove the illusion and wrap an arm around Loki's throat. I wrench him backwards and he hits the ground. I throw more magic blasts down at him and he groans with the impacts. The crowd remains silent until Thor walks out into the arena next to where I stand and where Loki lies.
'And the winner is RAVEN!' Thor yells the crowd roars wild and I spin around on a foot my cloak wraps around me and I disappear into a puff of green smoke.
A minute later,I stumble against a wall five streets down from the fighting arena. Groaning I stop and lean against the wall. Two vendors with their stalls look up and see me.
'Hi Raven,' the drink vendor calls out to me. I groan and slide to the ground. I stare blankly at the opposite wall of the alleyway. Shadows fall over my face and I look up. It's the food and drink vendors. They both crouch in front of me and offer me a drink and something to eat.
'I'm good thanks,' I try to decline but they both shake their heads. They drink vendor shoves the cup into my hand.
'Please Raven,' he insists.
I give in and drink it and I take the food the young girl offers me. They taste a lot better then the food in the castle I sometime get. Then again this food is fresh while whatever I usually get has been waiting a few hours for me to come and eat it. I reach into my cloak to get some money. Both the vendors see and they shake their heads.
'Please don't think anything of it Raven.'
'But-' I try to protest but neither of them budge.
'Think of it as our way of thanking you for everything you've done for us. You gave us a new home when the Allfather wouldn't give you one. You took all of us to safety when the Allfather wouldn't even think of giving you safety. You helped us to stay alive when the Allfather wanted you dead.' The young girl says.
