Three days later, I teleport outside of a cabin where Alec parents used to live.
'Val!' I yell out.
A window smashes from around the back. I run around and see Valarie lying on the ground.
'Val come on.'
She jumps up and runs away, screaming. 'Not today, Satan!'
Sighing, I teleport right in front of Valarie. She squeals.
'Fucking Usain Bolt.'
I roll my eyes. 'Come on idiot, let's figure this out.'
'No, I just killed that guard, this other person is ruthless,' she throws her hands widely around. 'I'm slowly losing it.'
'Well, I think you have so much on your mind that you think there is another person. But there isn't. Your husband cheated on you, but not really. You worked until you exploded. You fought someone and didn't win. You were attacked with ice that put you through so much pain. The split personality isn't you.'
'Stay away, Ray!' she shouts as she surrounds herself in fire. 'Ooh, that rhymes.'
'Fucking idiot,' I whisper. 'You helped me. It is only fair that I help you,'I walk through the fire silently thanking Tony for designing the new suit to withstand heat. I reach out and gently place my hand on her arm.
'NO!' She screams. A huge blast throws me into a tree. I fall to the ground and groan. I get up and run back to Val's side as she sits on the ground sobbing and tapping at her head.
'Ok maybe it is another person,' she admits.
'Val, come on they are weak. Kill her! BURN HER!' I step closer aware that every time I get closer the fire on her body glows brighter, hotter.
'Raven, please, leave me alone,' she sobs. I only hug her. A hot blast of fire hits me, sends me flying through the air and into a tree. There a loud snap and smaller sounding ones; I figure out the louder one was the tree and the smaller ones were my body. The immense pain immediately flares up, but before I can respond to it, it immediately dulls down to a throbbing as I hit the ground and sink into the snow. I groan as I struggle to breathe. I can't breathe. My body burns and hot tears flow down my face. My eyes close.
'No. You're not dying. That's my job bitch,' I faintly hear Valarie say. Then everything cools down. My eyes open and look up at Valarie. I can't help but smirk as I realise that she's holding me up.
'We live some crazy lives.'
'I know, right! I just had another person living inside of me and yeah.'
I manage to sit up by myself, but she doesn't let go of me yet. 'Hey Val about that guard, Alec saved him.'
'Oh, ok so he's not dead.'
'No,' she helps me up to my feet.
'So how about a holiday.'
'Yeah, Nah. Every time you say that something bad always happens,' I whisper to myself as I turn away to start heading back home and mutter under breath, 'Besides Thor still hasn't given me my freedom yet.' I stop, turn around and walk back over to her. I pick her up and help her to stand up. 'And we will discuss the holiday.'
'Sounds good.'
We make our way back both leaning on each other as we walk. For once I keep my mouth shut to my anger, and I don't fight with her.
'Did you seriously jump through a window?'
'Yep, not the first time either.'
We laugh and walk to the palace.
'Oh, and the whole of Asgard is waiting for an announcement.'
'Fucken bitch.'
I chuckle as we walk towards setting sun.
We get back to the palace and help each other heal. Val asks for her father to round up everyone she hurt and for them to meet her in the throne room. I decided to leave her alone as she apologises to them and make my way to where my brother waits for me.
He paces in the court yard in front of the water fountain and its hard to miss the relief in his eyes as I approach him.
'I thought you werne't going to come.'
I shrug. 'Father did make some good points as to why we should talk.'
'Well when no one had heard or seen from you since you two talked. I thought you had left again.'
'I thought about it actually. I just needed time to my self. What did you want to talk about?'
He takes a deep breath. 'Your past.'
'That wasn't part of the deal, Archer,' I growl. I turn around and begin walking away, when he calls out after me.
'I'm not going to tel you to suck it up or that you deserved it because you didn't. I've spent my entire life trying to find you and trying to find out what happened to you but no one will give me any answers. They all just go silent and uncomfortable. So what the hell happened?'
I look back at him and smirked dangerously. 'Hell happened.' I teleport into my room and open up my dairy again.
