Cabin in the mountains

Snow cushions my freezing skin. I wake up and the first thing I see is Valarie standing at my feet. I stand up.

'What happened? Where are we?'

'I actually don't know,' she replies. We take a moment to look around and all I can see is snow and mountains. A gust of wind blows and I cross my arms slightly cold.

'But what I do know is that up the hill is a cabin.'

'So, you don't know where we are, but you know there is a cabin,' I spit sarcastically.

'Well actually, if you look,' she says pointing at something. I follow her arm and see a small cabin.

'Good evening student. I will be your teacher for a few days.'

'Say what?' I take a step so I'm next to her. 'What is going on? What happened to me?'

'That's a lot of what's. How about you ask questions later like when we are in the cabin. It's freaking cold out here,' she power walks away.

I stand where I am for a moment before getting together and running after her. It's a lot harder than what it looks running in snow. My feet sink deep with every step.

After a few minutes of walking I give and stand where I am. At this rate it's going to take forever. Valarie stamps her feet and shape shifts into a wolf and starts running off closer to the cabin. Watching her use her powers gives me an idea. I have powers too. I use a teleportation spell and teleport into the cabin. I look around me at the cabin. It's your everyday normal hunters' cabin. But a bit bigger. Giant fireplace in the main room with a small kitchen and couches around the empty fireplace with a small dining table near a window next to the door. I walk past the kitchen spying a door and enter a small closed off room holding a bed, cupboard and oil heater and a window. I shrug and walk back into the main room. Across the room is another two doors. I open them. One of them turns out to be a bathroom while the other is another bedroom. As I walk back to the main room the front door slams open. I watch as Val walks in shivering. She only takes a moment to look around her before spotting the fireplace. She throws a ball of fire at it and flames appear roaring in it. She sinks into a couch shivering. I walk back into the bedroom and pull the thick blanket off the bed, carry it out and drape it over her. She looks up at me frowning. I drop onto the other couch gazing silently at the fire.

'Why did I just black out like that?' I ask her.

She glances at me then at her hands. 'I can put people to sleep. It's part of the healing powers I have,' she tells me calmly.

'So, I didn't black out. You put me to sleep. Why?'

She sighs and leans back in the chair. I turn so I can focus only on her. She faces me and we both study each other in silence for a moment.

'Why so many questions,' she groans.

'Because you told me that I can ask you questions once we are in the cabin. Now answer me. Why did you put me to sleep? Where are we? Why are we here?'

'I put you to sleep because you were freezing the ground. There was ice everywhere. We were worried that you would hurt us. I don't know where we are. I told Loki to teleport us somewhere cold so we are here until you can learn how to control your powers.'

'Great. Just great. I'm stuck in a cabin in the middle of who knows where with you.'

'Ouch. Okay for your information I chose to come and train you. I can leave you out here alone anytime I want to.'

'Why would you do that?'

'Do what?'

'Chose to spend time to train me when I keep leaving you?'

'Because you trained me to fight when I was losing my shit. It's only fair I repay you.'
