𝗜 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗬𝗼𝘂 [ Kuroo Tetsurou ]

"Why does she look like Pumpkin? Her hair is short, and her eyes... they're just like Pumpkin's," Kuroo muttered, staring out of his window. He reached into a drawer and pulled out an old photograph, the edges slightly frayed with time. The picture showed a younger Kuroo and a small girl with bright eyes and a big smile.

"Pumpkin," he whispered, clutching the photo tightly. "I'll find you." With a determined look, he turned and went back into his house.

"(Y/n), I'm home!" she called as she entered her house.

Silence greeted her.

"Maybe he's still at work," she murmured, setting her bag down. She changed into comfortable clothes and headed to the kitchen to make dinner.

After eating, (Y/n) carefully wrapped the leftover food and placed it in the fridge for her dad. She then grabbed a towel and went to the bathroom to take a refreshing shower.

Feeling relaxed in her pajamas, (Y/n) grabbed a bottle of water and headed to her room. She opened the window for some fresh air and sat by her desk. Her gaze drifted to a small drawer, and she opened it, pulling out a faded photograph of her younger self with Hubby.

"Hubby... I miss you," she whispered, brushing her thumb across the image.

A soft rustling sound caught her attention. Turning, she noticed a piece of paper lying on the floor. Picking it up, she unfolded it to find a simple message scrawled in neat handwriting:

"Hi neighbor :)"

Her eyes widened, and she leaned out of her window, glancing toward the house next door.

"Kuroo?" she called out.

Kuroo was leaning against his own windowsill, grinning mischievously. "Hi, (Y/n)-chan. Looks like our rooms are right next to each other," he said with a playful smirk.

"Yeah," she replied, sitting back down at her desk to begin her homework.

"What are you doing?" he asked, resting his chin on his hand as he watched her.

"My homework," she replied without looking up.

"Talk to me, (Y/n)-chan~," he teased, his tone flirtatious.

"After I'm done," she said, focusing on her notebook.

He pouted dramatically. "What school do you go to?"

"Karasuno High School," she replied, scribbling away. "You?"

"Nekoma High School," he said. Her pencil paused mid-stroke.

"Nekoma? Please don't tell me he's in the volleyball club," she thought.

"Oh, so Nekoma. Do you take the train to school every day?" she asked, resuming her writing.

"Yeah," he replied casually.

"Why don't you just live closer to your school? That way, you wouldn't have to commute so far."

"Nah, I like living here. Besides," he added with a wink, "you're my new neighbor now!"

"Oh," she said, a faint smile tugging at her lips.

"Though it's sad you don't go to my school," he sighed melodramatically.

"But at least I'm your neighbor," she replied, her smile growing.

"True," he agreed, flashing her a grin.

After a moment of quiet, he asked, "(Y/n)-chan, when you said you just moved back, where were you before?"

She finished packing her books and turned to face him. "When I was eight, we moved to Osaka. My grandma fell down the stairs and went into a coma. We moved to her house to take care of her, and my dad found a job there, so we stayed for a while."

"So, why did you come back here?"

"My dad got a job here again," she explained, resting her chin on her palm. "And there's someone I want to find."

"Oh? Who—" His phone buzzed, cutting him off.

"Sorry, I have to take this," he said, glancing at the screen.

"Go ahead. I'm going to sleep anyway," she replied, waving him off.

"Goodnight, (Y/n)-chan," he said, smiling warmly.

"Goodnight," she replied as he stepped away. She closed the window, turned off the lights, and climbed into bed.

Kuroo
"Hello? Coach?"

Coach Nekomata
"Oh, Kuroo. Just wanted to let you know we've got a practice match with Karasuno High next Wednesday. I've already told the others."

Kuroo
"Got it. Thanks for letting me know."

Coach Nekomata
"See you tomorrow."

Kuroo
"Goodnight."

Kuroo hung up and lay back on his bed, a smirk forming on his lips.

"Karasuno, huh? I'll look forward to it," he said softly before drifting off to sleep.
