Day 1
(Y/n) laced up her sports shoes, feeling the familiar excitement and nerves bubbling in her chest as she entered the gym. The training camp had officially started, and today was going to be intense. The gym echoed with the sounds of shoes screeching on the floor and the balls bouncing as the team gathered.
"Since Kageyama and Hinata are not here, I would like to change your positions," Ukai said, his eyes scanning each player carefully. "Tanaka, you'll be the wing spiker. Sugawara, you're going to be the setter. And (Y/n), you'll be the middle blocker. Is that okay with everyone?"
They all nodded in agreement, ready to tackle their new positions.
"Great, you can head to your spots," Ukai instructed.
The game began, and Karasuno faced off against Shinzen. Despite their best efforts, the game didn't go in Karasuno's favor.
"Gosh, who is that boy? He almost blocked all my spikes!" one of the Shinzen players said, his voice tinged with frustration.
"Yeah, and his spikes are sharp and fast. He's tough to get past," another teammate added, clearly impressed.
(Y/n) overheard their conversation, a slight grin on her face. She'd managed to catch their attention, even if they didn't know who she truly was.
"Good job, (Y/n)! You definitely drew their attention," Sugawara said proudly, high-fiving her.
"Well, it's not just me," (Y/n) said, wiping her sweat with a towel. "Wait till Kageyama and Hinata join us. We'll be unstoppable then."
"Alright, one lap of diving drills!" Daichi called out, and the team began practicing their dives, each player pushing themselves harder.
"Nice serve, Kuroo!" (Y/n) heard the Nekoma boys shouting, looking over to see them celebrating a win. She turned to see Kuroo looking back at her, their eyes meeting for a brief moment before he flashed her a smirk.
(Y/n)'s face immediately flushed, and she quickly turned her head away, feeling her heart race.
As Day 1 Ends
By the time the first day of camp ended, (Y/n) was exhausted but satisfied. She took a deep breath and made her way to Karasuno's room, where the boys were settling in for the night. The managers and coaches had gone upstairs, leaving (Y/n) to stay with the boys, as she had to keep up her disguise.
She couldn't sleep with the managers, as they might get suspicious. But at least she had Suga, who could protect her secret.
(Y/n) got her bedsheet ready, laying it out next to Suga's. "Suga-san, I'm going out to get some fresh air," she said, standing up from her bed.
"Okay, but come back soon," Suga replied, not looking up from his phone.
(Y/n) nodded, then quietly slipped out of the room. She walked outside and found a quiet spot on the grass, gazing up at the stars. It was peaceful here, a welcome escape from the buzz of the gym.
"Oya?" she muttered as she turned her head. Sitting next to her was none other than Kuroo.
"Oya oya?" he teased, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. "What is (Y/n)-chan doing out here so late at night?"
"Nothing much, just staring at the stars," she replied with a soft smile, trying to keep her cool.
Kuroo leaned back, looking up at the sky. For a moment, there was a comfortable silence between them, both lost in the quiet of the night. But suddenly, (Y/n) felt a strange warmth, as if someone were staring at her. She turned her head, meeting Kuroo's gaze. He wasn't looking at the stars anymore; his eyes were locked onto hers, and he was leaning closer, his face slowly approaching hers.
Their lips were nearly touching...
Suddenly, the moment was interrupted by a loud voice.
"Hey! Hey! Hey!!"
(Y/n) and Kuroo both snapped their heads around in surprise, quickly pulling away from each other. (Y/n)'s face was bright red, her heart pounding in her chest.
"B-Bokuto, what's up?" Kuroo stammered, his face matching (Y/n)'s in a shade of deep crimson. It was dark, so Bokuto didn't notice their flushed expressions.
"What are you two doing here? It's late," Bokuto asked, blinking in confusion.
"We were just talking," Kuroo answered casually, though his voice was slightly shaky.
(Y/n) quickly stood up, her cheeks still burning. "I'm going to sleep now. See you both tomorrow," she said, hurriedly walking away to cover her face with her palm, trying to hide her embarrassment.
She sprinted back to the room, her heart racing in her chest. Once inside, she dove under her covers and buried her face in her pillow, still processing what had almost happened.
"W-What just happened?" she murmured to herself, her fingers lightly touching her lips. "We almost... kissed!"
Her mind raced. "I like Kuroo... but I can't. I like Hubby... But what if he is Hubby? No, no, I'm thinking too much. I need to go to sleep."
She closed her eyes, still feeling the heat of the moment on her skin.
"Hubby..." she whispered to herself, finally drifting off to sleep, thoughts tangled in confusion and excitement.
