"What the fuck...?"
Kuroo froze, his water bottle slipping from his hand and crashing to the floor. His eyes darted around Usui's room, which was filled with pictures of (Y/n) playing volleyball with the Karasuno boys. The images covered nearly every wall and surface, a testament to Usui's obsession with capturing her athletic prowess.
"Oh, Rooster head, you came just in time," Usui called out, his eyes still glued to his computer screen. "Help me choose a perfect picture."
Kuroo glanced over at the printer beside him, watching as another photo of (Y/n) printed out. "Why now?" he sighed, bending to pick up the scattered photos from the floor. He placed them on the table next to Usui, his gaze lingering on the various poses of (Y/n) as she spiked, blocked, and celebrated with her teammates.
"Rooster head, which one? This one or that one?" Usui asked, still indecisive, as he hovered over the photos.
Kuroo raised an eyebrow, a grin spreading across his face. "Both," he replied, his voice playful.
"Okay," Usui said, barely acknowledging Kuroo's suggestion before clicking the print button.
Kuroo watched as the printer hummed to life, and before long, the table was covered with piles of printed pictures. He picked them all up in one hand. "Bro, you printed a lot," he commented, flipping through the stack.
Usui stretched his neck, turning off his computer. He glanced at the printer, considering the mountain of photos. "I should stop now, huh?"
"Yes, you should," Kuroo said, placing the pictures down on the table and giving Usui a pointed look. Grinning, Usui grabbed the stack of prints and shoved them into a box beside him.
"You should have taken a picture of my handsome face too," Kuroo teased, flashing a wide, mischievous grin as he eyed the pictures.
"Keep dreaming," Usui replied flatly, glaring at him as he organized the pictures into the box. "I will never do that."
Kuroo's smirk grew wider. "I bet you will."
Usui paused, a challenging look crossing his face. "Oh? And where would that happen?"
"On my wedding day, where else?" Kuroo chuckled, getting to his feet.
"Whatever," Usui muttered, his eyes rolling as he laid back onto his bed.
"Anyways, what are you gonna do with all these pictures?" Kuroo asked, reaching into the closet to pull out a mattress. He placed it down on the floor, sitting cross-legged on it.
"Secret," Usui replied cryptically, sticking his tongue out as he relaxed on his bed.
"Aah, whyyy?" Kuroo whined, laying down on his own mattress with a pillow and blanket.
"Because no," Usui said with a smirk, flipping the lights off and settling into the darkness.
Kuroo groaned in mock frustration, closing his eyes. "Tell me why?"
"Sleep," Usui muttered, his voice already quiet as his breathing began to slow.
"Why?"
"Sleep."
"Why?"
"Sleep."
"Why?" Kuroo's voice softened in annoyance, but there was no reply. Just the soft sound of Usui's gentle snores.
Kuroo chuckled quietly to himself. "He's a fast sleeper, huh?" he mumbled to the empty room, the tension of the day finally easing away. He rolled over, closing his own eyes and drifting off to sleep as the peaceful silence enveloped them.
The next morning...
"Cutie pie, where are you? You'll be late!" Usui's loud voice echoed up the stairs as he called to (Y/n), who was still upstairs packing.
"Coming!" she shouted back, quickly gathering her suitcase and the bag of souvenirs.
As she made her way downstairs, Kuroo stepped forward, offering to take the suitcase. "Let me help you with that," he said with a smile, his voice a little more tender than usual.
"Thank you," (Y/n) smiled, grateful for his offer as they walked into the living room.
"The taxi's here," her father announced, already by the door with his own bag. He turned to her mother. "Honey, I'm gonna miss you," he said, pulling her into a tight hug.
(Y/n) felt a lump form in her throat. Tears welled in her eyes as she took in the moment, her emotions swirling. She tried to keep it together, but the farewell was inevitable.
"Cutie, don't cry," Usui said softly, his hand gently brushing away the tears that were starting to fall. "We'll see each other again soon," he added with a reassuring smile.
(Y/n) nodded slowly, wiping her eyes. "I know."
Her father turned to Kuroo, his expression serious. "You! Make sure she's safe and don't you dare make her cry," he said, a warning in his tone.
Kuroo snapped to attention, raising an eyebrow but keeping his voice light. "Yes, sir!"
The room erupted in laughter, the tension lifting as (Y/n) moved forward to give Usui a tight hug. "Take care, Honey!" her mother called out.
"I will, Mom," (Y/n) replied, holding back a sob.
"Make sure to keep that promise, Rooster head!" her mother called out playfully to Kuroo.
"I will, brother-in-law," Kuroo responded with a wink, the warmth of their banter easing (Y/n)'s nerves.
The two shared one last smile before they left for the train station, ready to face the journey ahead, with all its uncertainties and emotions, together.
