"You said you won't leave me! Why?!" The voice cried out in desperation, tears lacing every word. "I'm sorry..." came the quiet response. "No, don't leave me!" the voice pleaded again, frantic, as hands grabbed at a long sleeve. "Please, let me go," the response was firm but regretful as the hands were gently pried away. "No, please, don't leave me!" the voice begged, but the door slammed shut with a finality that echoed through the room. The sound of the door closing was followed by the heavy silence, and then the sobs began, a heartbroken mess collapsing onto the floor in despair.
"Cutie pie, we're back—" Usui stopped in his tracks, his voice fading as he noticed the scene in front of him. Kuroo, not paying attention, bumped into Usui from behind. "Oi, why'd you stop—" Kuroo froze too, both of them looking at (Y/n) in surprise.
She was sitting there, her face a mess of tears, her cheeks swollen from crying hard. Her eyes were puffy, her body shaking with each sob. The image of her crying, overwhelmed by the emotions from the movie, struck both of them, like a punch to the gut.
"Pumpkin...?" Usui's voice was soft, and he approached her cautiously.
(Y/n) turned her head, tears streaming down her face, her eyes red from crying. "He said, he won't leave her...why?!" She sniffled, wiping her face with a tissue as her words came out broken. "Cutie... it's just a movie," Usui said gently, setting down the shopping bags on the table.
Kuroo gave her another tissue, his expression softening as he observed her sorrow. "Here," he said quietly.
"I know, but he left her!" (Y/n) cried again, her face scrunching in pain as she blew her nose on the tissue.
Usui's mind wandered briefly, a thought flickering through his mind. "This hell story kinda reminds me of how I left her..." He sighed, looking at (Y/n) with a mixture of sympathy and contemplation.
"Pumpkin, now stop crying and cheer up, hmm?" Kuroo said gently, his hand moving to stroke her head, slowly traveling down to her cheek, where he wiped away the last of her tears with his thumb. (Y/n) nodded, her smile returning as she stood up, trying to regain some composure.
"I bought you chocolate," Usui said, holding out a bar with a soft smile.
"But I'm not on my period," (Y/n) mumbled, her words unintentionally slipping out.
Silence.
"What?" (Y/n) widened her eyes and shook her head, her cheeks turning pink. "N-Nothing, and thanks!" she stammered, nervously laughing as she scratched the back of her head.
Usui raised an eyebrow, but he let it slide. "Tomorrow, you and Rooster head are going home. Did you pack everything yet?"
"Of course! Right, Hubby?" (Y/n) beamed at Kuroo, clinging to his arm with a playful smile.
"Of course!" Kuroo chuckled, ruffling her hair affectionately.
Usui rolled his eyes in mock annoyance, turning to put the food in the fridge. "Stop with the lovey-dovey stuff when I'm here," he muttered.
"Yes, sir!" (Y/n) and Kuroo said in unison, laughing at Usui's expense.
"Stop laughing and help me prepare dinner," Usui ordered, though there was a hint of a smile on his lips as he spoke.
Both (Y/n) and Kuroo grinned and nodded, their hearts light as they helped Usui with the dinner preparations.
Later, after everything had settled and (Y/n) finished packing her suitcase, she looked around the room. "Hubby, did you see my Karasuno jacket?" she asked, her voice a little frantic as she searched.
"You mean this?" Kuroo walked into the room, holding the jacket in his hand, a teasing grin on his face.
"Yeah, thanks," (Y/n) smiled sweetly at him, her gaze making his heart race faster than before. She took the jacket from him, about to turn back to her suitcase, but before she could, a pair of muscular arms wrapped around her waist, and Kuroo's chin rested gently on her head.
"Hubby...?" she whispered, surprised.
"Let's stay like this for a while before your brother comes," Kuroo murmured softly, closing his eyes as he held her close.
(Y/n) smiled, placing her hand over his, her fingers brushing against his in an unspoken connection. She closed her eyes, savoring the warmth of his embrace. "Your hair smells nice," Kuroo spoke again, his voice light with laughter.
"My hair always smells nice, except when I practice," (Y/n) teased, a small laugh escaping her lips, which made Kuroo chuckle softly in response.
They stayed there for a few moments, wrapped in each other's arms, the world outside momentarily forgotten as they found peace in the simplicity of the moment.
