"(Y/n)! Wake up or you'll be late!" Usui called out, pulling the blanket off her with a swift yank.
With a groan, (Y/n) buried her face deeper into the pillow. "I'm sleepy," she mumbled, her voice muffled by the soft fabric.
Usui sighed dramatically and crossed his arms. "What time did you go to sleep last night?"
"I don't know," (Y/n) replied, her voice still thick with sleep. She could vaguely recall talking with Kuroo long into the night, their conversation flowing easily between laughter and quiet, comfortable silences. She didn't want to admit how late she'd stayed up, though. "I just... lost track of time."
"Wake up," Usui persisted, his tone softening as he saw how exhausted she looked. "You're leaving today, right?"
(Y/n) rubbed her eyes, the heaviness of sleep still clinging to her. She nodded slowly, her face still buried in the pillow. "Tomorrow's the official match," she said, almost as if speaking to herself.
"Then I'm coming to support you," Usui added with a grin, his voice full of warmth and pride. It was clear he wasn't just offering words of encouragement; he genuinely meant it.
(Y/n) stretched and yawned, the stiffness of sleep slowly dissipating. As she pushed herself up and out of bed, she couldn't help but smile at Usui's playful teasing. "Aww, my cutie pie is tired," he teased, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead. "Go on, get ready. Breakfast is almost ready."
Usui left the room, his footsteps light and unhurried, leaving (Y/n) to get herself together. She grabbed her black tracksuit and a plain white t-shirt, quickly getting dressed before heading to the bathroom to freshen up.
When she entered the kitchen, she saw her brother already at the table, placing a plate of pancakes down with a flourish.
"Took you long enough," he said, giving her a mock glare.
"Sorry," (Y/n) grinned sheepishly, taking a seat across from him. She looked at the pancakes with a grin. "Ittadakimasu," she said, the words automatic as she dug in. Her stomach growled in response, clearly grateful for the food.
"So, you're leaving now, huh?" Usui asked, taking a bite of his own food.
(Y/n) nodded, her mouth full of pancakes. "Yeah, I'm excited but nervous," she admitted after swallowing. "It's gonna be intense."
Usui smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I'm going to take my camera and get tons of pictures of you. You know, for Mom and Grandma," he teased.
(Y/n) froze for a moment, eyes wide in disbelief. "Are you serious?" she asked, her voice tinged with embarrassment.
"Of course!" Usui said with a laugh, his tone genuine. "They'll love it, and it'll be a nice memory to show them."
(Y/n) sighed, shaking her head in mock defeat. "Fine, but you better not embarrass me," she warned with a raised eyebrow.
"Don't worry. I'll make sure they're all nice and candid," Usui said with a mischievous grin.
"Where are you staying, by the way?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.
"In a hotel near the gym," Usui replied casually. "I'll be cheering you on from the sidelines, just like Mom and Grandma would if they were here."
(Y/n) smiled, her heart feeling warm at his words. "Make sure to cheer extra loud for me, okay?"
"I will!" Usui gave a thumbs up, a playful spark in his eyes.
The walk to school was quiet, with (Y/n) lost in her thoughts as she approached the gate. She spotted Tsukki waiting for her, his usual calm expression on his face, but there was a glimmer of something else in his eyes—maybe it was concern, or maybe it was just the tension of the upcoming match. Either way, (Y/n) couldn't help but feel a little bit of relief seeing him there.
"Tsukki!" she called, waving at him, her voice filled with warmth.
He turned, a small smile tugging at his lips as he patted her head. "Ohayo."
She laughed softly at his touch, looking up at him with affection. "Ohayo," she replied, her eyes bright with the excitement of the day ahead.
As they stood there, a figure appeared behind Tsukki, breathless and panting. "Tsukki!! Ohayo!" Yamaguchi called out, his face flushed from the run.
"Oh, (Y/n)-san! Ohayo!" he added, still catching his breath.
"(Y/n)!" Tsukki said with mock exasperation, looking at Yamaguchi. "You're late."
"Sorry, I couldn't find my scarf, and besides, it's freezing outside," Yamaguchi explained quickly, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
Tsukki simply hummed in response, brushing it off. "We don't have time for this. The others are probably already waiting."
(Y/n) glanced at Yamaguchi, who looked sheepish, but they both shrugged and followed Tsukki as he led them toward the rest of the team.
"Looks like everyone's here, now let's get on the bus," Daichi called out, his voice filled with authority.
(Y/n) climbed aboard, scanning the bus until she found a seat by the window, the only one available. She sat down, her hands nervously fiddling with the fabric of her tracksuit as she gazed outside.
The others filed in, and soon everyone was seated. Tanaka plopped down behind her, his usual energy not diminished in the slightest.
"Everyone, put on your seatbelts, and let's go," Daichi instructed.
"GO!" Noya, Tanaka, and Hinata shouted in unison, their faces alight with excitement.
"Wow," Hinata said in awe, pressing his face against the window. "That's actually... SKYTREE!"
Tanaka and Noya leaned over, their eyes sparkling with fascination. "It's huge!" they exclaimed in unison, clearly impressed by the sight of the towering structure.
Daichi sighed but smiled, his patience for the boys' antics running thin. "Listen up, we're going to drop off our luggage at the inn first, then we'll warm up lightly at the gym that Nekomata-sensei arranged."
The boys didn't seem to hear him, caught up in their excitement. "The big city!" they shouted, completely ignoring Daichi's announcement.
"Listen to me," Daichi said, turning around with a stern expression. "Don't cause any trouble at the inn. We're here to focus. Got it?"
"Osu..." Hinata, Noya, and Tanaka all responded, their voices tinged with unease.
"We're almost there!" Takeda-sensei announced with a cheerful voice.
"Good job enduring the trip, everyone!" he added as the bus pulled into the destination.
"Thanks!" everyone chimed in, their voices filled with anticipation.
As (Y/n) stepped off the bus, she could feel the weight of the upcoming match hanging over her. It wasn't just about the game—it was about everything she'd worked for. And, for a brief moment, she let herself enjoy the excitement of the journey ahead.
☆☆☆
Hiya! it's JUMINSSHII and here is the season 2 of Kuroo! So in the previous chapter, there is a guy named Usui and he is (Y/n)'s, stepbrother.
I never plan to add a new character to this book but since y'all wanted season 2 so I had to add him. The ending would be different if I didn't add Usui but oh well here we go.
There will be a lot of surprising things that will appear since y'all wanted me to surprise y'all.
hope you enjoy <3
