Kuroo heard footsteps approaching, his gaze dropping to where (Y/n) stood. He sighed, feeling the tension in the air. Slowly, he released his hold on her waist. "Your brother's coming," he muttered, his tone laced with a hint of annoyance.
(Y/n) could sense his frustration, but she simply chuckled. As if to lighten the mood, she tiptoed and quickly planted a soft kiss on his cheek before her brother could enter. Kuroo watched her, a small, genuine smile spreading across his face.
"Don't be sad," she said with a playful grin, turning toward her suitcase. She could tell he was bothered, but she didn't want to add to his stress.
Just then, Usui appeared in the doorway, a shopping bag in his hand. "Cutie pie, are you done?" he asked, his voice light.
"Usui, yeah," (Y/n) responded, her chuckles still hanging in the air. She stood up and gave him a small smile. Usui handed her the bag. "These are some souvenirs I bought, and Mom sent something too." His eyes softened as he looked at her, a familiar warmth in his gaze.
"Oh? Thank you," (Y/n) said, accepting the bag with a grateful smile. She set it down on her desk and met Usui's gaze again.
Kuroo, leaning against the doorframe, suddenly spoke up. "And what about me, brother-in-law?" he teased, his voice playful as he pouted dramatically.
Usui raised an eyebrow, his annoyance clear. "Ha? Are you joking? There's nothing for you."
Kuroo huffed, leaning in a little too far for comfort. "Brother-in-law, you're such a meanie." He whined in a high-pitched voice, making Usui roll his eyes in exasperation. With a frustrated sigh, Usui reached up and ruffled Kuroo's hair.
"Jesus, here, your souvenirs are in the bag too," Usui muttered, his arms crossed in defeat as he turned away, clearly done with the back-and-forth.
Kuroo, grinning mischievously, placed a hand on his chest and bowed slightly. "Thank you, dear brother-in-law," he said, sarcasm dripping from his words. His smirk only widened as he glanced at Usui.
"The smirk on your face really doesn't suit you," Usui commented from the corner of his eye, his voice barely audible.
"And your glare doesn't suit you either," Kuroo shot back, crossing his arms in defiance, still smirking.
(Y/n), now clearly exhausted by their bickering, let out a long sigh. "You two, stop fighting already. I'm tired," she warned, her tone firm as she shot them both a pointed glare.
Usui clicked his tongue and turned to leave. "Fine, I'm going back to my room. And Rooster head, you're sleeping in the living room tonight," he said, making a face.
Kuroo raised an eyebrow in mock offense. "Eh? But Mother-in-law said I'm sleeping with you!" he protested, his voice dripping with faux innocence.
Usui sighed, clearly feeling defeated by Kuroo's persistence. "You sleep on the floor. Prepare your mattress on your own," Usui retorted, his tone no-nonsense.
"Yes, brother-in-law," Kuroo responded cheerfully, his eyes glancing over at (Y/n) with a playful twinkle.
(Y/n) shook her head, though a small smile tugged at her lips. "Don't call me that," she muttered. "Good night, cutie pie," Usui said, walking over to her and placing a gentle kiss on her forehead. He glanced at Kuroo before leaving the room.
Kuroo clicked his tongue in mock annoyance. "Tch," he muttered. He walked over to (Y/n), gently wiping her forehead with his shirt, a small smirk playing on his lips.
"H-Hubby, what are you doing?" (Y/n) asked, her voice soft as she closed her eyes, slightly flustered by the sudden closeness.
"I'm wiping off his kiss," Kuroo said, his voice hushed, as he continued to tenderly wipe her forehead. "I can only kiss you, not him. And you're mine." His words were playful, but the possessiveness in his voice was clear.
(Y/n) chuckled, unable to hold back the warmth she felt in her chest. She hugged him back, enjoying the comfort of his arms around her. "Good night, Hubby," she murmured, resting her head against his chest.
Kuroo paused, pulling back slightly, and looked down at her with a teasing grin. "Wait, where's my good night kiss?"
(Y/n)'s face flushed a deep red, and she looked around nervously. She quickly leaned in and pressed her lips to his, a quick but sweet kiss. Kuroo smiled, satisfied, and pulled back. "Now, good night," he chuckled, ruffling her hair as he walked out of the room.
As the door clicked shut behind him, (Y/n) let out a deep breath, her heart still racing. She lay down on her bed, a rosy flush still coloring her cheeks, before she eventually fell asleep.
Meanwhile, Kuroo made his way down the hallway to the kitchen. He grabbed a water bottle from the fridge, taking a sip before scrolling through his phone. He sighed, scrolling through his social media feed as he leaned against the counter.
A few minutes later, feeling restless, he wandered down the hall to Usui's room. He knocked softly before pushing the door open, only to freeze in shock at the sight before him.
"What the fuck..?"
