"Welcome back, Usui!"

The words echoed in the room, and (Y/n) felt a rush of emotions as Usui stood there, looking as though he'd never been gone. He smiled warmly, and his eyes swept over the group before finally resting on Kuroo.

"Usui-San! You know, Kuroo-San proposed to (Y/n)-San on her birthday!" Hinata said, grinning widely as he broke the news. The atmosphere in the room shifted immediately.

(Y/n)'s heart skipped a beat, and she looked at Kuroo in shock, her eyes wide. Kuroo mirrored her expression, suddenly tense, his gaze flickering from Hinata to Usui.

Usui's expression froze. He slowly turned to look at Kuroo, his jaw tightening, eyes narrowing in a sharp, unamused glare.

Silence.

The room felt thick with tension. Usui cracked his fingers, his gaze still fixed on Kuroo, as he took a few steps toward him. "Now, that Rooster head even proposed to my cutie pie while I was away. I'm gonna punch you in your pretty face," Usui muttered, his voice low and dangerous.

The threat hung in the air, and (Y/n) felt her breath catch in her throat. "U-Usui?" Her voice wavered as she tried to keep the situation from escalating.

But Usui wasn't looking at her. His fist was clenched, eyes cold with anger.

Kuroo closed his eyes, bracing for the blow, but instead of the expected punch, he felt a pat on his shoulder. He opened his eyes to see Usui's cracked smile, his eyes glinting with a mix of amusement and something more protective.

"I want to punch you so bad, but I can't," Usui sighed, shaking his head. "I don't want to ruin her birthday." He exhaled sharply before turning to Kuroo, his voice firm but controlled. "But I will punch you someday if you make her cry."

Kuroo smirked, his eyes gleaming with defiance. "Don't worry, I won't."

Usui's eyes narrowed and flicked toward Tsukishima, standing off to the side. "You over there will join me, right?" Usui asked with a knowing grin.

Tsukishima, who had been silently observing the exchange, didn't hesitate. He smirked and nodded. "I won't let you make her cry either."

Kuroo, realizing the situation was far from settled, raised his hands defensively. "Okay, okay, I get it." He looked back at Usui and added, "I'm not going to make her cry, so no need to punch anyone."

Usui chuckled lightly, his tension easing as the group began to relax. "Anyway, we're all here, so let's just celebrate, yeah?" he said, raising a glass in the air. "Cheers!"

"Cheers!" Everyone echoed, raising their glasses to the air with laughter and cheers filling the room, the awkward tension dissipating as they clinked their glasses together.

Later in the evening, (Y/n) found herself stepping out onto the balcony for some fresh air. The cool night breeze swept through her hair as she leaned against the railing, looking up at the stars. To her surprise, Tsukishima was standing there too, looking out at the night sky, lost in thought.

"Tsukki..?" (Y/n) called his name softly, breaking the silence between them.

Tsukishima glanced at her but didn't move. "Hm?"

"Why are you out here alone?" (Y/n) asked gently, a curious smile tugging at the corners of her lips.

He hesitated for a moment, then shrugged. "I'm not into all this celebrating. It's not really my thing, so I came out here." His lips curved into a fleeting smile that quickly faded.

"You should have fun with us, you know," (Y/n) said, her tone light and teasing. "There's nothing wrong with enjoying a party."

Tsukishima tilted his head slightly, staring into the dark sky. "No, I'm good," he replied, his voice soft but firm, as he gazed at the stars that twinkled faintly above them.

The silence stretched between them for a while until (Y/n) decided to break it.

"Ne, Tsukki, do you have someone you like?" The question slipped out before she could stop it, and her eyes widened slightly as she waited for his answer.

Tsukishima took a deep breath and let out a slow sigh. His gaze shifted from the stars back to (Y/n). "I... do," he began quietly, "but she's already with someone else."

His voice was flat, but there was a flicker of something hidden behind his cool exterior. The words stung, and for a brief moment, (Y/n) could sense the hurt in his tone.

She blinked in surprise, not fully understanding.

"The person is you..." Tsukishima thought silently to himself but didn't voice it aloud.

"Oh, I see," (Y/n) said softly. "Then I hope you find someone even better." She smiled at him, her tone full of gentle encouragement. "You deserve it."

Tsukishima nodded, but his expression remained unreadable. He glanced at her for a moment before quickly turning his eyes back to the night sky.

"Anyways, let's go back inside," Tsukishima said, his voice firm once more. "It's getting late."

(Y/n) smiled and nodded, catching up with him as they both headed back inside.

Inside, Usui waved to (Y/n) from across the room, grinning like a big brother. "Cutie pie! Come sit down!" He patted the seat next to him.

(Y/n) smiled and walked over, sitting beside him as Kuroo slid into the seat next to her.

"Rooster head, I want time alone with my sister. Can I?" Usui asked, raising an eyebrow as he shot Kuroo a mock-threatening glare.

Kuroo smirked back at him. "But I want to join the conversation too, dear 'Brother-in-law," he teased, enjoying the playful banter.

Usui rolled his eyes. "Okay, whatever. But don't call me that yet. I haven't approved your proposal," Usui grumbled, looking at (Y/n) with a smile.

"My work is done, and now I'm staying with you forever," Usui added, his tone softening as he squeezed her hand. "I've arranged everything. Now I'm here to stay."

(Y/n)'s face lit up, her heart soaring with happiness. "Really?" she asked, her voice filled with excitement.

"Yes," Usui said, smiling as he looked at her, eyes full of affection. "I'm staying with you from now on."

Kuroo, watching them with a small smirk, leaned back in his chair and shrugged. "Well, I guess if Usui's sticking around, I'll have to put up with him," he said, his tone teasing but with a hint of genuine warmth.

"But what if they come back?" (Y/n) asked, the thought lingering in the back of her mind. She couldn't help but wonder about the implications of everything—Kuroo, Usui, the relationships, and the people from their past.

Usui glanced at her, his expression serious but calm. "No matter who comes back, (Y/n), I'm not going anywhere." He squeezed her hand again, giving her a reassuring smile. "This is where I belong now. With you."

(Y/n) smiled, feeling a wave of comfort wash over her. The future felt uncertain, but in that moment, she was content to be surrounded by the people who cared about her.
