"(Y/n)-san, that was awesome!" Nishinoya, Tanaka, and Hinata shouted in unison, their excitement practically bouncing off the gym walls. The outburst startled (Y/n), but she quickly composed herself, offering them a warm smile.

"Thank you," she said, wiping the sweat off her brow. Her gaze fell on Nishinoya's arms, noticing the red marks. Concern flashed across her face.

"Nishinoya, does it hurt?" she asked, gently touching one of the marks. "It's because of me, isn't it? From spiking the ball so hard?"

"N-No, i-it's fine! Really!" Nishinoya stammered, his face turning bright red.

"I'm sorry," (Y/n) said, looking genuinely upset.

"It's fine! Really! But you were so cool out there!" he exclaimed, trying to reassure her.

"Now smile!" Nishinoya added enthusiastically.

(Y/n) flashed him a cheerful grin, which only made him melt further. "(Y/n)-san touched me!!" Nishinoya cheered, looking overjoyed, while Tanaka glared at him jealously.

"Hey, not fair!" Tanaka muttered, making (Y/n) laugh at the two's antics.

Kiyoko approached, holding a water bottle. "Here's some water," she said, handing it to (Y/n).

"Thank you, Kiyoko-san," (Y/n) replied gratefully, taking a long drink. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Kageyama sipping from his own bottle. Gathering her courage, she approached him.

"Kageyama?" she called softly.

"Hai?" He looked up at her, curious.

"When you toss the ball, could you toss it just a little higher for me?" she asked, her tone polite.

Kageyama nodded immediately. "Sure."

"And don't worry—your tosses are already really good!" she added with an encouraging smile.

Her words caught him off guard, but a small smile tugged at his lips. "Thank you," he said quietly, looking both proud and a little shy.

The team was resting when the gym doors suddenly burst open. Takeda-sensei entered, panting heavily.

"E-Everyone!" he managed between gasps for air.

"Takeda-sensei, catch your breath before you speak," Daichi advised, his tone steady.

After a few deep breaths, Takeda finally managed to get the words out. "We've got a practice match scheduled... with Nekoma High School!"

"Nekoma?" (Y/n) thought, her mind flashing to the stories she'd heard about the team.

"What?!" Coach Ukai exclaimed, his reaction startling (Y/n) slightly.

"They're really strong," Ukai muttered, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Not stronger than (Y/n)-san!" Nishinoya declared proudly.

(Y/n) let out a soft laugh. "I don't think that's true," she replied humbly.

Takeda-sensei turned his attention to her. "Ah, you must be the new member of Karasuno's boys' team. Nice to meet you. I'm Takeda Ittetsu, a teacher here."

(Y/n) bowed politely. "It's nice to meet you, Takeda-sensei. I'm (L/n) (Y/n)."

Takeda nodded, seemingly not noticing anything unusual. Meanwhile, Asahi whispered to Sugawara, "I can't believe he hasn't realized she's a girl."

"Her short hair and frame make her look more like a boy," Sugawara replied. "Plus, her name and voice don't really give anything away."

The rest of the boys nodded in agreement.

Kiyoko walked over and handed (Y/n) a Karasuno jacket. "Here's your team jacket."

"Thank you, Kiyoko-san," (Y/n) said, slipping it on.

"It looks great on you, (Y/n)-san!" the boys chorused.

"Looks like (Y/n) will officially be Karasuno's number 13," Coach Ukai announced, making (Y/n) smile proudly.

"Now, let's discuss the practice match," Ukai said as the team gathered in a circle.

"(Y/n)-san, sit next to me!" Nishinoya exclaimed, patting the ground beside him.

"No, she'll sit next to me!" Tanaka countered, pointing to the spot near him.

"I said it first!" Nishinoya shot back, and the two began arguing.

(Y/n) chuckled softly and turned to Hinata and Kageyama. "Can I sit between you two?" she asked.

"Of course!" Hinata beamed, and Kageyama gave a small nod.

(Y/n) settled herself between them, leaving Nishinoya and Tanaka sulking nearby.

"I'm sorry, Nishinoya, Tanaka," (Y/n) said gently.

"Next time, you'll sit next to me!" Nishinoya declared.

"And me too!" Tanaka added quickly.

(Y/n) laughed and nodded. "Alright, next time."

"Okay, let's focus," Ukai said, drawing everyone's attention back to the discussion about the upcoming match.
