"IT'S YOU AGAIN?!" Usui and Kuroo both shouted in unison, eyes locked in a tense stare. (Y/n) blinked, completely taken aback.

"What?" (Y/n) asked, genuinely confused as she looked between the two men.

Usui narrowed his eyes at Kuroo. "I didn't think I'd run into you again." His voice was sharp, and there was an edge to his words.

Kuroo gave a lazy smirk, not backing down. "Guess I'm just that hard to forget, huh?" He leaned against the window frame casually, but his eyes were anything but relaxed.

(Y/n) sighed, stepping in between them. "Can you two stop?" she said, trying to keep things calm.

Both men looked at her, their postures stiff. Then, Usui raised an eyebrow, his tone teasing but with an undertone of genuine curiosity. "So, who's this guy, (Y/n)?"

"Yeah, who is he to you?" Kuroo asked, his voice unusually quiet, though his expression was unreadable.

There was a pause. (Y/n) felt the weight of both of their gazes on her. Her heart raced, the situation suddenly feeling more serious than it ever had before.

She nervously looked away, shifting her weight from one foot to the other. "Uh... he's... my older brother's friend." She tried to sound nonchalant, but the lie caught in her throat. She could feel both of them judging her answer, sensing the tension in the air.

"Is that so?" Usui asked, his voice flat, and for a moment, he wasn't sure if he believed her. Kuroo's eyes flicked to (Y/n) as well, his face unreadable, but there was a quiet storm brewing in his eyes.

The air was thick with unspoken words.

Kuroo pushed himself off the windowsill, his hands in his pockets, but his stance still defensive. "Doesn't seem like just a friend, though," he muttered, more to himself than anyone. His eyes flickered toward (Y/n), before quickly shifting back to Usui.

Usui's jaw tightened. "And what's that supposed to mean?" He was trying to remain calm, but the idea of someone else getting close to (Y/n) made something sharp twist in his chest.

(At that moment, he realized how much it bothered him — more than he'd expected. Was it jealousy? Maybe.)

Before (Y/n) could say anything more, Usui took a step closer, a little too quickly. His voice softened, the teasing replaced by something more genuine. "Look, I don't know what's going on here, but it's clear this is something you're not ready to talk about." He took a deep breath, trying to steady his nerves. "Just... take care of yourself, alright?"

(He didn't want to say more, afraid of pushing her too much. His protective instincts were kicking in, but he didn't want to pressure her. Not now.)

(Y/n) met his gaze, and for a moment, she saw something more in his eyes — a vulnerability that was almost painful.

Before either of them could say anything else, the moment was broken by Kuroo's voice, cutting through the tension.

"Is that it? Just gonna leave?" His tone was still light, but there was something like a challenge behind it.

Usui looked over at him and for a second, neither of them moved. (Y/n) could feel the strain in the air, the way it was between them now, like they were two strangers trying to understand each other. She had no idea what to do with it.

Finally, Usui sighed, his shoulders dropping as he ran a hand through his hair. "Fine, I'll go. But... don't let this situation get any more complicated than it already is, (Y/n)."

Usui gave Kuroo one last look, a silent warning in his gaze, before he turned and left without another word.

As Usui walked away, Kuroo's eyes softened for a split second. Then, as if he realized something, he reached for his phone.

(Y/n) stayed silent, watching Usui's retreating figure disappear down the hall. She took a deep breath, trying to steady her racing heart.

Then she turned to Kuroo, her expression hesitant. "That was... really something." She managed to say, trying to break the ice.

Kuroo didn't respond right away. He stood by the window for a moment, lost in thought, before finally speaking. "You should've told me about him, you know." His voice was quieter now, more vulnerable. "You know I don't like being kept in the dark."

(Y/n) flinched, feeling guilty. "I'm sorry. It's just... complicated." She moved closer to him, standing beside him by the window. "I didn't want to confuse things."

Kuroo's eyes softened. He reached out, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear gently. "You don't have to hide things from me. I want to know what's going on with you." His voice was earnest now, and she could feel the sincerity in his words. "But... you have to trust me more."

(Y/n) looked up at him, feeling a lump form in her throat. She realized then that Kuroo wasn't just teasing her or acting possessive — he was worried. For her.

She nodded slowly, her heart softening. "I'll try... I just don't want to hurt you."

Kuroo smiled softly, leaning down to kiss her forehead. "You're not going to hurt me. But you've got to trust me, okay?"

She nodded again, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. Maybe things were complicated, but they'd figure it out. Together.
