Day 3 (continued)
"Do you like him?" Tsukishima's question hung in the air, and (Y/n) went silent, unsure of how to answer. Her mind swirled with confusion. She thought back to her feelings for Kuroo and her childhood best friend.
"I-I don't know," (Y/n) admitted, her voice faltering. "Remember when I told Hinata about my best friend?" Tsukishima nodded, prompting her to continue. "I like him and... Kuroo," she said softly, her thoughts a jumbled mess of emotions.
"I feel like Kuroo is my childhood best friend," (Y/n) added, trying to make sense of it all. "What if it's him?" Tsukishima murmured, his words making her pause. She hadn't thought of it that way. "I-I don't know," (Y/n) replied, still unsure of what her feelings really meant.
Just then, they were interrupted by a familiar voice. "(Y/n)-san! There you are. I've been looking for you," Kiyoko called out, her tone gentle.
"What is it, Kiyoko-san?" (Y/n) asked, confused.
"Ukai said you can sleep with us and the other managers since you're a girl after all," Kiyoko explained, a kind smile on her face. (Y/n) nodded, her mood lightening as she followed Kiyoko to the manager's room.
That night, after a long day, (Y/n) and Kiyoko entered the room where the other managers were already settling down. Yachi eagerly waved at (Y/n), inviting her to sit next to her.
"(Y/n)-san! Do you want to sleep next to me?" Yachi asked, her voice full of excitement.
(Y/n) smiled and nodded happily. She had been looking forward to spending time with Yachi, and the offer made her feel more at ease. They settled in next to each other, and Yachi couldn't help but ask, "(Y/n)-san! I didn't know you were a girl. Why did you pretend to be a boy?"
Surprised by the question, (Y/n) took a deep breath and began telling Yachi her story about Hubby—the reason why she had kept her gender a secret.
"Oh, I hope you find him soon," Yachi said sympathetically, her expression softening. (Y/n) gave a slight nod, her thoughts momentarily drifting to the mystery of Hubby's whereabouts.
As the night grew later, one of the managers called out, "It's late now, you all should go to sleep."
"I forgot my stuff in the boy's room. I'll be right back," (Y/n) said as she got up from the bed and left the room.
When she opened the door to the boy's room, something unexpected happened.
SMACK!
A book flew straight into (Y/n)'s forehead. "Ouch!" she groaned, immediately clutching her forehead in pain.
"Oh my god, (Y/n)! Are you okay?" Suga rushed over, concern filling his voice. He gently pulled her hand away from her forehead to inspect the damage.
"It's red," Suga said worriedly, touching the spot gently. "I'm fine," (Y/n) reassured him, smiling despite the pain.
"I'm so sorry, (Y/n)-san!" Tanaka and Noya both bowed deeply, clearly apologetic. "No, it's fine," (Y/n) said, rubbing her forehead lightly to ease the sting. She looked around the room and noticed how messy it was. "What were you guys doing?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Throwing stuff," Tsukishima said, clearly annoyed by the chaos.
("You guys should clean up before Coach comes," (Y/n) teased, her innocent smile giving her words a playful tone. "Then, goodnight," she said, waving as she left the room.
Downstairs at the vending machines, (Y/n) grabbed a drink and opened it, taking a sip as she leaned against the wall. The cool liquid soothed her throat as she sighed deeply.
"Kuroo, he has a girlfriend..." (Y/n) muttered to herself, her mind still caught on the idea that Kuroo might be taken.
"What if it's him?" Tsukishima's earlier words echoed in her mind.
She shook her head. "What if Tsukki thinks it's him... or is it him?" The confusion swirled in her head, leaving her feeling even more unsure. "I'm thinking too much..." she said with a self-deprecating laugh.
After finishing her drink, (Y/n) tossed the can into the trash and made her way back to the classroom, hoping that sleep would help clear her mind.
When (Y/n) entered the classroom, she was greeted by Yachi's bright smile. "(Y/n)-san, you're back!" she said eagerly.
"Sorry, I was downstairs drinking," (Y/n) explained as she changed into a fresh shirt.
Yachi's eyes widened as she noticed (Y/n)'s forehead. "(Y/n)-san! What happened to your forehead?"
Kiyoko, who had also noticed, rushed over. "It's red and there's a little scratch," she said, inspecting it carefully.
"It's okay," (Y/n) reassured them both with a soft smile. Kiyoko carefully applied a plaster to the spot, her hands gentle. "Thank you," (Y/n) said, giving a small bow in gratitude.
"Now, let's go to sleep," Kiyoko said, and (Y/n) nodded, crawling under her covers.
"Goodnight," (Y/n) murmured, her eyes fluttering shut as she drifted off into a peaceful sleep, still pondering the events of the day and the emotions stirring inside her.
