Two Weeks Later

Two weeks had passed since Usui had left, and (Y/n) found herself still waiting, feeling the emptiness grow a little with each passing day. Usui had promised her he would come back as soon as his work was finished, but the days felt like they were dragging on.

She was lying on her bed with Kuroo, the two of them sharing a quiet afternoon. Kuroo had his arm behind his head, his fingers idly brushing the sheets, while (Y/n) was gazing at him, her eyes sparkling with an unexpected thought.

"Kuroo?" she asked, breaking the comfortable silence between them. She held up her phone, showing him a picture of a baby, eyes wide with curiosity. "How old do you think this child is?" she asked, a playful smile tugging at her lips.

Kuroo glanced at the picture, squinting for a moment before shrugging. "I don't know. Aren't all children the same?" He tilted his head, looking back at her.

"Wait—don't tell me... Kuroo, you hate children?" (Y/n)'s voice wavered, shocked by the possibility. Her eyes widened, and she placed a hand over her chest in mock offense.

Kuroo's expression softened, and he looked at her, a smirk creeping onto his lips. "I hate them," he said, his voice almost too casual as he turned back to look at her.

Her heart dropped, a pang of disappointment knotting in her chest. She blinked, trying to process his words. "Oh," she whispered, her smile fading slightly. It wasn't what she had expected from him, but she brushed the feeling aside. "Well... it's fine," she added, forcing a small, understanding smile. She didn't want to press him on it.

She looked at the picture again, her thoughts elsewhere. But just as she was about to say something else, Kuroo's voice cut through the quiet.

"(Y/n)?" He called her name, his tone suddenly more serious. "Yeah?" she answered, turning to face him, her expression softening as she saw the shift in his demeanor.

"After you graduate... will you marry me?" Kuroo asked, out of nowhere, as though the words had been on the tip of his tongue for a while. He met her gaze, his eyes filled with sincerity as he smiled.

(Y/n) blinked, her heart skipping a beat. "Are you serious?" she asked, almost unable to believe what she was hearing. Her voice cracked slightly, a mix of shock and hope in her tone.

Kuroo nodded, his smile widening. "I want to start a new future with you. Do a lot of things together. So... will you?" He was looking at her with such earnestness, his usual playful smirk replaced by a quiet, deep affection.

Tears welled up in (Y/n)'s eyes, her heart fluttering with the weight of his words. She hadn't expected this, not so soon. She had been thinking about her future, but with everything that had been happening with Usui, she hadn't imagined Kuroo would ask her like this.

A tear rolled down her cheek as she smiled brightly at him, the weight of everything she was feeling crashing over her in a wave of emotion. "Of course yes," she whispered, her voice trembling with happiness.

Kuroo immediately pulled her into a tight embrace, his arms wrapping around her as if he never wanted to let go. (Y/n) leaned into him, the warmth of his affection wrapping around her like a protective cocoon. The two of them shared a quiet, tender moment, their future stretching ahead of them.

But just as the moment seemed to settle, the door to her room swung open, and Nishinoya's loud voice cut through the air.

"ARE WE GONNA HAVE A PARTY?" Nishinoya shouted, his voice filled with excitement. Behind him, Hinata and Tanaka were grinning like children on Christmas morning, their eyes sparkling with mischief.

"Everyone!" (Y/n) exclaimed, surprised by the sudden intrusion as the boys filed into the room, clearly excited. "What are you guys doing here?" she asked, though she couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of them all.

"We came here to say goodbye before we leave tomorrow," Suga said with a warm smile, his eyes soft with a hint of sadness. The others, even Tsukishima, nodded in agreement.

"(Y/n)-San, your mother is so sweet!" Yachi said, her voice almost shy, but filled with sincerity. "Yeah!" the boys chimed in, nodding along.

"She is," (Y/n) replied with a fond smile. Her mother had always been kind to the boys, and it warmed her heart to know that they appreciated it.

"Anyways, (Y/n)-San, we have a surprise for you downstairs!" Hinata suddenly piped up, his energy infectious. He grabbed her wrist and pulled her toward the door with a wide grin. "Surprise?" she asked, confused but intrigued. "Yeah! Come with us!" he insisted, his excitement bubbling over.

As (Y/n) was pulled downstairs, she heard Tsukishima's sarcastic voice calling out behind her.

"So, you proposed, huh?" Tsukishima said, raising an eyebrow, the tone of his voice dripping with mockery.

"Yeah, I did," Kuroo responded nonchalantly, still smirking. He exchanged a knowing glance with Tsukishima, though the latter didn't seem particularly pleased.

"Jealous?" Kuroo teased, his smirk widening.

Tsukishima scowled and turned his gaze toward Kuroo, his jaw tightening. "Why should I be?" he shot back, annoyance clearly written on his face.

Kuroo just crossed his arms, enjoying the tension. "Oh, come on, don't hide it," he teased further.

Tsukishima, clearly fed up, grabbed Kuroo by the collar and pulled him closer, his eyes burning with frustration. "I like her, okay?" he admitted, his voice low and raw. "And I'll make sure you don't hurt her," he added, glaring at Kuroo as if daring him to test that.

Kuroo's smile faded, and he placed his hands on Tsukishima's arm, pushing it away gently. "Okay, okay, chill," he said, his voice lowering in seriousness. Tsukishima released his grip and turned away, walking out of the room.

"Don't you dare make her cry or I'll take her away from you," Tsukishima warned, his back still turned as he left the room.

"I got it!" Kuroo called after him with a grin. He stood up, smoothing his shirt, and smiled to himself. He was serious about (Y/n) and wouldn't let anyone—least of all Tsukishima—get in the way of their future.

"I won't make her cry," Kuroo murmured to himself as he left the room to catch up with the others, knowing that from here on out, he would do everything he could to keep her happy.
