OWENS POV
I knew Amelia was freaking out, even though she was so good at hiding it I knew. We left Lilith Dolan's office and we were walking out with Riley.
"Did you like the doctor?" Amelia asked.
"She was nice," Riley said.
"Would you want to talk to her again?" I asked.
"Yeah," Riley said. I looked at my phone and it was already 1:30 which meant the kids would be home soon. We walked to the car and started driving home. We pulled in the driveway and Riley ran inside.
"Do you want to talk about it?" I asked.
"Can we talk about it later?" She asked taking her jacket off.
"Yeah sure," I said.
"Thanks, love you," she said and kissed my cheek.
"Love you too," I said.
AMELIAS POV
My mind was racing. My poor Riley. I didn't want to think about it right now. I walked inside and walked into the kitchen. Olivia, Liam, noah and Ava were at the table.
"How was school?"
"Good," they all said.
"How was lunch Liam and Ava?" I asked.
"It was good," Liam said.
"Yeah good," Ava said.
"Anyone have any tests today?" Owen said.
"Me!" Noah said.
"Me too," Olivia said.
"How were they?" Owen asked.
"Easy!" Noah said.
"It was okay," Olivia said.
"Was it math?" I asked.
"Yeah," she said.
"That's okay," I said.
"When is Logan done with soccer practice?" Owen asked.
"2:30," Liam said. I looked at the clock and it was almost 2:30.
"Mommy can you help me with my Social Studies homework again?" Noah asked.
"Sure buddy," I said. I walked into the living room with him and sat down on the couch. He sat down next to me and grabbed his little packet.
"Okay so what do we have to do here?" I asked.
"Answer questions in this picture," Noah said.
"Okay," I said. We looked at the picture and drew some conclusions from it and he was done.
"Anything else you need help with?" I asked.
"I have another reading but Ava did it with me before," he said.
"Okay," I said.
"Mommy?" He asked.
"Yes buddy," I said.
"Is riley sick?" He said.
"No she's not sick baby," I said.
"Then why did she have to go to the hospital?" He said.
"Just a checkup, Don't worry about it," I said.
"Okay," he said.
"Make sure to put this packet in your folder okay?" I said.
"I'll remember!" He said and ran over to his backpack that was hanging on a hook by the door. I walked back into the kitchen and I heard the door open.
"I'm home!" Logan said. He walked into the kitchen with his cleats in one hand and his equipment bag in the other.
"How was practice?" I asked.
"It was good," he said, "coach said I did really well."
"That's awesome Logan," Owen said.
"Okay well I have to go study for my Science test so I will see you all at dinner," Olivia said.
"Okay," I chuckled.
-
The kids were in their separate rooms and I knew Owen wanted to talk now. I was sitting on our bed and he was changing.
"So do you want to talk?" I asked nervously.
"Yeah," he said.
"Okay," I said.
"She should take the medication," he said.
"No," I said.
"No? Amelia it could help her," he said.
"So could therapy," I said.
"Therapy doesn't work for everyone," he said.
"So? She hasn't tried! She liked Doctor Dolan!" I said.
"Amelia she should take the medication," he said.
"No she shouldn't!" I said.
"Amelia it's going to help her!" He said.
"What if there are side effects?" I said.
"Don't you think it's been tested? Dolan wouldn't have suggested it if it hadn't worked on other children!" He said.
"Are you saying I don't trust her?" I said.
"I didn't say that," he said, "Why can't we let her take the medication?"
"Because we don't know what it could do to her!" I said.
"Oh my god Amelia god forbid it would help
her!" He said.
"It could hurt her!" I said.
"Amelia!" He yelled frustrated.
"You know why I don't want to do this!" I said.
"NOT EVERYTHING IS ABOUT YOU!" He yelled.
"Get out," I said.
"No Amelia I didn't mean it like-" he said.
"LIKE WHAT? LIKE I'M BEING SELFISH? GET OUT!" I said.
"Where am I supposed to go?" He said.
"I don't care!" I said.
"You're being unbelievable right now!" He said.
"I'm being unbelievable?" I said.
"Yes you are!" He said. We kept arguing as we were walking downstairs and he grabbed his keys. I could feel the tears forming in my eyes. He slammed the front door and I felt awful for throwing him out, and I probably shouldn't have but I was so mad. I stormed back upstairs and Ava opened her door.
"Mom?" She said.
"Yeah?" I said.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
"Yeah I'm fine," I said as I could feel the tears falling down my face.
"Mom what happened?" She said as she hugged me. I was trying so hard to keep it in but I couldn't. I was so upset. I pulled back from her and I wiped my eyes and looked at her.
"Did you hear everything?" I said, "Did riley hear everything?"
"She's watching a movie in my room with her headphones so I don't know," she shrugged.
"Okay," I said and wiped my eyes.
"Are you and dad getting a divorce?" Ava said sadly.
"No!" I said, "it was just a fight we're fine I promise."
"Is he coming back?" She said.
"Shit I really kicked him out," I said frustrated with myself.
OWENS POV
I was so pissed and upset, and I really fucked up. I was in my car and I called my mom.
"Owen?" She said.
"Hi mom," I said, my voice breaking.
"Owen? Owen what's wrong honey?" She said.
"Can I spend the night at your place?" I said.
"Of course you can honey, is everything okay," she asked.
"I'll explain when I get there," I said as tears were going down my face. I really fucked up. I shouldn't have yelled at her. I shouldn't have said that. I was being selfish she wasn't. I pulled into my moms driveway and she opened the door and hugged me.
"Owen what happened?" She said.
"Amelia and I fought," I said, "and she kicked me out of the house."
"I'm sorry," she frowned.
"I messed up mom," I said frustrated.
"Honey I'm sure she'll forgive you," my mom said.
"She shouldn't," I said.
"Just calm down," she said and hugged me, "why don't you try calling her?"
"Okay," I nodded. I called her and it went to voicemail. I sighed and put my phone on the coffee table and sat down on the couch. I really fucked up.
