a few days later
OWENS POV
It's been a few days since Riggs has gotten here and thankfully I haven't seen him a whole lot. Amelia and I were both not working today so that was nice. I was cleaning dishes in the kitchen and I felt arms go around my waist.
"Hi Mia," I said.
"Hi," she said.
"So are we letting Logan go see Avery?" I asked.
"Um I don't know, an hour an a half is kinda far for him to drive alone," she said.
"I agree," I said, "He'll probably have to go on the highway."
"I know," She frowned.
"I could go with him and we could get a hotel room for the night and we could come back on Saturday," I said.
"Okay," she nodded, "yeah."
"Good idea?" I said.
"Good idea Owen Hunt," she said and kissed my cheek.
"Thanks," I chuckled. I heard the front door open and that meant the kids were home. We walked into the living room and the kids were taking off their shoes.
"How was school?" Amelia asked.
"Good," they said.
"That's good," I said.
"Yeah," they said and went into their rooms.
"Watch TV with me," Amelia said as she pulled at my arm.
"Okay lazy," I chuckled. She pouted cutely and I kissed her forehead. She smiled and we laid down on the couch. I nuzzled into her as she rubbed my back. I love her so much.

Amelia and I were still watching TV when Ava came downstairs.
"Hi," Ava said.
"Hi," Amelia chuckled.
"I have a question," Ava said.
"I have an answer," I said.
"When is too early to know you love someone?" Ava said. I saw Amelia smile.
"You just know sometimes," Amelia said, "Justin?"
"No a new boy," Ava said sarcastically.
"Right," Amelia chuckled.
"Just tell him," I chuckled.
"It's not that easy!" Ava said.
"Yes it is," I chuckled.
"Who said I love you first? You or mom?" Ava asked.
"He did," Amelia said.
"You want to know what your mother said when I told her I loved her," I chuckled.
"Mom what did you say?" Ava chuckled.
"Owen," Amelia complained.
"She said, 'what? oh I mean I love you too'" I laughed.
"Owen we've been over this you caught me off guard!" Amelia laughed.
"Well now I know what not to say," Ava laughed. She walked back upstairs and Amelia punched my chest.
"I hate you," she said, "you're annoying."
"Ow," I pouted.
"Shut up," she said, "that didn't hurt."
"You're right it didn't," I said as I climbed on top of her and kissed her. She giggled as I kissed her neck.
"Owen we cant do it on the couch," She chuckled.
"Why not?" I joked and kissed her again.
"I'm serious," she chuckled.
"You don't sound too serious," I provoked.
"Later. I promise," she said.
"Okay," I said.
AMELIAS POV
I was taking Riley to therapy and Olivia wanted to tag along so I let her. We were driving over and they were both kinda quiet, figured they were tired from the long school day. Rileys almost done with therapy, I mean her dreams have improved so much but I think she really likes talking to Doctor Dolan so were gonna keep bringing her until she says she doesn't want to go anymore. We got to the hospital and we brought Riley to Lilith's office.
"Can I get a hospital tour I'm bored," Olivia chuckled.
"You could have stayed some," I said.
"I would be bored there," Olivia said, "tour?"
"Sure," I chuckled, "so this is the therapy wing."
"Very insightful," Olivia said, "do you have an office?"
"Yes," I chuckled and got in the elevator. We walked to my office and I opened the door.
"I don't know why you and Riley are so fascinated with the idea of me having an office," I chuckled.
"It's cool," she said, "and it has a couch."
"When you guys were little all you wanted to do was sit on that couch," I chuckled, "especially Liam and Ava."
"I kinda remember the hospital," she said.
"You only came here everyday until you were 5," I chuckled. My office door opened and it was Link.
"Hey," I said.
"Hey, uh I know you're not working but Derek is in surgery can I get a head CT?" He said.
"Sure," I said.
"Thank you, room 2140," he said.
"No problem," I said and he closed the door.
"Field trip," Olivia said and got up.
"You can't touch anything I'm serious," I said.
"That Doctor was hot," Olivia said. I chuckled and rolled me eyes.
"He was not," I said.
"He so was you're allowed to admit that," Olivia chuckled.
"I am not," I said.
"Why not," She said.
"Because we dated," I chuckled.
"That's why he looked at you like that," she said.
"Like what?" I said as we were walking down the hallway.
"Like he still likes you," Olivia laughed. I laughed and nudged her.
"Shut up," I said and turned the corner.
"Okay I'm serious don't touch anything," I said.
"Okay," she said. I sat down next to Edwards as we took a look at the scans.
"Are you working today?" She chuckled.
"No," I said, "just forward the scans to Derek later."
"Alright," she said. The scans came up and there was a small tumor near the frontal lobe.
"Forward these to shepherd and tell him it's operable," I said.
"Okay thank you," Stephanie said.
"No problem," I said and signed paperwork and walked out with Olivia.
"That was cool," Olivia said.
"Even cooler when you're in someone's brain," I said as we got in the elevator.
OWENS POV
I was playing video games with Liam in the living room when the front door opened. I looked and it was Amelia, Olivia and Riley.
"Hey," Amelia smiled.
"Hi," I said.
"I ran into April she said she's going to send you something later," Amelia said as she hung up her coat and the girls went upstairs.
"Okay," I said, "thank you."
"Mhm," she said.
"Dad stop being distracted you're making us lose!" Liam chuckled.
"I'm sorry my bad," I said. Amelia chuckled and walked upstairs. Liam and I finished the game and it was almost time for dinner. I walked upstairs and opened our bedroom door and Amelia was on her computer.
"What should we make for dinner?" I asked.
"I don't know," She chuckled, "do we have pizza dough?"
"Yeah," I said.
"Perfect can we make pizza," she said.
"Sure," I said.
"Can you do me a favor?" She said.
"Yeah," I said.
"Can you grab me your Seattle sweatshirt?" She pouted cutely, "please?" I chuckled and walked into the closet and grabbed my sweatshirt. I threw it at her and she chuckled.
"I love you," she smiled.
"I love you too," I said.
"SHUT UP," Logan yelled. Amelia chuckled and cuddled farther into the bed.
"One day without fighting is too much to ask," she chuckled.
"Stop being such a baby," Ava yelled.
"I'll go check on that," I chuckled.
"Good idea," Amelia chuckled and got up with me. Olivia, Ava, and Logan were arguing about something.
"What is wrong?" Amelia chuckled, "I was comfortable in my bed."
"Nothing," Ava said and left.
"Exactly," Logan said.
"What is going on," I chuckled.
"They're fighting over Avery," Olivia said.
"What?" Amelia chuckled.
"I think she doesn't exist!" Ava said and ran down the hall. Logan rolled his eyes and went back into his room. I chuckled and looked at Amelia.
"Only teenagers," She laughed.

Amelia was brushing her teeth in the bathroom and I walked over to her. I grabbed her waist from behind and started kissing her neck.
"Hi," she said with a mouth full of tooth paste.
"Hi," I chuckled. She spit her tooth paste out and smiled. She turned around and faced me and I smiled.
"Hi," she said softly again. I pushed a strand of hair behind her ear and kissed her lips softly. She wrapped her arms around my neck and I pulled her shirt over her head.
"Someone's in a good mood," she smiled.
"Mhm," I said as she hopped on the counter and we started making out. I started kissing her neck and she wrapped her legs around my waist.
"Owen," she said softly in my ear as I started kissing down her neck.
"I love you," I said.
"I love you too," she said.
"MOM!" Ava and Olivia yelled.
"Ugh!" Amelia sighed.
