AMELIAS POV
I couldn't sleep. I tried everything. I had my head on Owen's chest and he was passed out. I looked at the clock and it was almost 1am. I sat up and thought about my mom downstairs. It really stung how much she loved my family over me. It's like I'm not even here. I kissed Owens cheek and walked downstairs. I heard someone in the kitchen and figured it was one of the kids grabbing water or something. I walked into the kitchen and it was my mom.
"Couldn't sleep," she said and took a sip of water.
"Me either," I said and grabbed a cup.
"You okay honey?" She asked.
"Yeah mom I'm fine," I said, "just tired."
"Okay," she said and hugged me, "I'm going to go try and get some sleep."
"Okay, Goodnight," I said.
"Goodnight Amelia," she said. I grabbed a water bottle and made my way back upstairs. I opened the door and Owen rolled over. I was afraid I woke him up.
"Mia," he said sleepily.
"Go back to bed," I said softly and kissed his cheek.
"You okay?" He said in his sleep.
"Yes Owen," I chuckled and ran my fingers through his hair and kissed his forehead.
"Good night," I said softly. He was already back asleep and he was so cute. I love my adorable husband so much.
OWENS POV
The alarm clock went off and Amelia mumbled something before I shut it off. She didn't move and I was worried something was wrong.
"Amelia," I said softly, "it's time to get up."
"No," she mumbled.
"Mia," I complained.
"Fine," she said and got up without another word and got dressed and walked downstairs. I followed her downstairs and she started making coffee while the kids were getting ready for school.
"Hey," I said.
"Hey," she said.
"You okay honey?" I asked and lifted her chin with my finger.
"No," she said quietly.
"Okay, let's talk okay?" I said.
"After the kids leave," she said.
"Yes," I said. The kids came downstairs and we made breakfast and they packed up all of their books in their bags and grabbed their lunches. The four of them left and I walked over to Amelia.
"Hey what's going on?" I said.
"Mommy! Daddy!" Noah smiled as he came into the kitchen.
"Good morning," Amelia smiled and hugged him.
"Good morning," Noah smiled, "good morning daddy."
"Morning buddy," I said. I made him waffles and made some for riley too when she woke up. Amelia was sitting at the table while Noah was eating and I grabbed her arm.
"What?" She said as I pulled her into the living room.
"What's wrong?" I said. I saw tears start to fill her eyes and I brought her into my arms.
"She's here," she said.
"Your mom?" I said.
"Mhm," she said quietly.
"You said she could stay," I said confused.
"I know," she said and looked at me. I know she was hurting about her mom, but I didn't realize it was this bad. I pushed a piece of hair behind her ear and kissed her forehead.
"It'll be okay, alright?" I said, "it'll be okay, I'm right here, right here with you."
"I know," she said, "I love you."
"I love you too," I said.
"Why does she resent me so much," she said quietly.
"Shh it's okay," I said and hugged her as she started crying. My heart broke as she was breaking in my arms.

The kids went off to school and Amelia hadn't cried again since this morning. Her mom went out to breakfast with Derek but Amelia didn't want to go with them. She was watching TV on the couch and she was all cuddled into a blanket. She was so cute.
"Hey," I smiled.
"Hi," she said.
"You okay now?" I asked.
"Yeah," she said and moved her feet, "sit with me." I sat down and cuddled into her.
"You're cute," she said.
"So are you," I said.
"My mom said she's leaving tomorrow afternoon, I told her she could stay another night," she said.
"Really? You're okay with that?" I said.
"Yeah," she nodded, "it's whatever."
"Okay," I chuckled.
"Okay?" She chuckled.
"You're adorable," I said.
"I love you Owen," she said.
"I love you too Amelia," I said.
