AMELIAS POV
I was so stressed out. I was late. So late. I was 4 days late and I was freaking out. I needed to find Meredith and Maggie. I was walking upstairs and saw Maggie walking out of her office.
"MAGGIE," I said.
"What? What's wrong?" She said.
"Where's Meredith?" I said, "I need to talk to both of you."
"She's in the clinic I think," Maggie said, "is everything okay?"
"We're going to the clinic," I said and grabbed her arm and ran downstairs. I saw Meredith talking to a group of interns and I tapped her shoulder.
"Yeah?" She said.
"I need to talk to you," I said.
"Okay," Meredith said. She excused herself and we walked into an empty patient room. I was freaking out.
"What is going on?" Maggie said.
"I'm late!" I said.
"Oh my god, Amelia!" Meredith smiled.
"I cannot have another kid I'm 46!" I said, "I already have 6!"
"Are you stressed? Is it just that? Is something bothering you?" Maggie asked.
"I don't know!" I panicked.
"Okay well are you actively having sex?" Maggie asked.
"They're Owen and Amelia of course they are!" Meredith said.
"Hey!" I said.
"I'm not wrong," Meredith chuckled.
"Guys I'm freaking out!" I said.
"Wow a 7th little Hunt," Maggie smiled.
"Guys!" I started panicking.
"Pee on a stick Amelia," Meredith said.
"I can't be pregnant can I?" I said, "I mean I'm 46."
"Are you on the pill?" Maggie said.
"No," I chuckled.
"Do you guys have protected sex," Meredith laughed.
"Sometimes," I laughed.
"If I get you a stick will you pee on it?" Meredith chuckled.
OWENS POV
I've been looking everywhere for Amelia and I couldn't find her. I ran into Derek in the hallway.
"Have you seen Amelia?" I asked.
"Her Meredith and Maggie are having a secret meeting," He chuckled and motioned towards the empty patient room where they were. Amelia looked like she was freaking out about something. The door opened and the three of them walked out and Amelia froze when she saw me.
"Hey I need to talk to you," she said and grabbed my arm.
"Okay," I said. She pulled me into a supply closet and started rummaging through stuff.
"What are you looking for?" I asked.
"A pregnancy test," she said.
"A what? Wait are you pregnant?" I asked.
"I don't know that's why I need the stick!" She said and found one.
"Can I be pregnant at 46? That seems unreasonable right?" She said.
"I don't know," I said.
"Are we going to have a 7th kid?" She said, I could tell she was panicking.
"Why don't you just pee on the stick," I laughed. She chuckled which lightened the mood and then walked into the bathroom. She peed on the stick and waited. We were both quiet because we didn't know what to think. I mean another kid right now? The twins were going off to college in a year and we were both almost 50. The timer went off and Amelia looked down.
"Oh my god," She said. I looked over her shoulder and saw a negative test.
"So what are you so stressed about if you're late then," I chuckled.
"I'm not pregnant," she said softly, "I was excited for a minute."
"Me too," I said, "but also stressed."
"Yeah me too," she said, "maybe we should start using protection." We both laughed and I wrapped my arms around her waist.
"That scared me for a second," she said softly.
"Yeah me too," I said.
"Am I a bad person for feeling relieved it's negative?" She asked as we walked down the hallway.
"No," I said, "do you want to grab lunch?"
"Yeah," she nodded and we walked to the cafeteria and saw Derek and Meredith eating lunch. We sat down next to them and Meredith stared at us.
"So?" Meredith said. Amelia chuckled.
"I'm not pregnant," Amelia said.
"Pregnant?" Derek chuckled.
"Shut up this does not involve you," Amelia chuckled.
AVAS POV
Liam, Olivia, and Logan and I were home and my mom was almost done with work so she was getting Riley and Noah. I was sitting at my desk doing my homework when my door opened.
"Hey," I said and looked up to see Logan.
"Hey," he said, "quick, strictly hypothetical question."
"Alright," I said.
"So you know Avery," he said.
"Yes I saw the back of her head once on a cruise ship," I said. He chuckled.
"We anyway, she like hypothetically lives an hour and a half away so hypothetically how hard would it be to convince mom and dad to left me go?" He said.
"Hypothetically, dad is easy, mom would be harder to convince," I said.
"Yeah but if I hypothetically get dad he can convince her," he said.
"That's a fair point," I said, "a very good one actually."
"So we think I could hypothetically see her?" He said.
"Probably," I said, "are you two a thing?"
"Well I mean if having sex on a cruise qualifies," he said.
"LOGAN," I laughed, "you had sex?"
"Okay and you haven't?" He said.
"I actually haven't," I chuckled.
"Really? You and justin haven't done it? Haven't you been dating for like 6 months?" He chuckled.
"8 actually," I said, "What if she's pregnant and that's why she wants to see you."
"She's not," he said.
"Alright," I said, "you had sex?" I was in such disbelief about him.
"Stop being such a baby about it," he chuckled.
"I can't believe you," I chuckled.
"I'm home!" My mom called from downstairs. After a few seconds she came upstairs and she looked exhausted and I felt bad because I know work was probably long.
"Hey guys," she said.
"Hey," Logan and I said.
"You look tired," I said.
"I'm fine," she said, "how was school."
"Boring," Logan said.
"Yeah," I said, "had no tests though."
"Well that's good," she said.
"Yeah," I nodded.
-
I walked downstairs and my mom was sitting at the counter on her computer. I felt bad because she looked really stressed.
"You okay?" I said.
"Yeah I'm fine," she said.
"You sure?" I said.
"No," she said.
"Mom what's wrong?" I said.
"This conversation stays between us," she said.
"Yeah of course," I said and sat down.
"I Uh thought I was pregnant this morning," she said.
"Really?" I said, "are you?"
"No," she said, "and I feel bad about it because your father's eyes lit up when I told him there was a possibility and I'm relieved I'm not."
"Mom," I frowned.
"It's fine don't worry about it," she said, "it doesn't matter the test was negative."
"A baby would be fun," I said. She looked at me and chuckled.
"No," She said, "my body is too old to push out another child."
"Fair point," I said.
"I feel like I crushed your father though," she said sadly.
"I'm sure you didn't," I said.
"Yeah I don't know," she sighed.
"Do you want a hug?" I asked. She nodded and hugged me.
"I love you," she said.
"I love you too mom," I said. When I walked back upstairs I stopped by Logan's door.
"Hey Logan," I said.
"Yeah?" He said.
"Don't ask tonight," I said softly.
