AMELIS POV
I haven't been home in a week. I was so unbelievably homesick. I can't do this anymore. All five of us have been locked in Nancy's house and Jacqueline has been back and forth. She said that once they catch Jeremy Shaffer, the second man, we can all go home and it's over, but I can't do it anymore. It's been a week, we're all breaking. I call Owen at least 4 times a day and we skype with the kids during dinner every night and we skype during lunch and dinner on the weekends. Jacqueline says they've tracked Shaffer down and are waiting for the right moment. I'm hoping that's soon. I was in the bathroom looking in the mirror and I missed my family so much. I could feel the tears strolling down my face and I couldn't stop. The door opened and I froze.
"I'm so sorry," Liz paused, "hey are you okay?"
"I can't do this," I cried, "I miss Owen, I miss my kids, I miss my job."
"Hey, hey it's okay," Liz said and hugged me.
"I can't do this anymore!" I cried.
"I know, we all can't," she said softly and rubbed my back, "but Jacqueline said they are so close to getting him okay? And then you can see your kids and Owen."
"I've never been without them this long," I cried.
"I know," Liz said, "but it'll be okay, you've been talking to him, they're safe, and you're safe."
"I want him," I cried.
"Where's your phone? Do you want to call him?" Liz said.
"Y-yeah," I stuttered.
"Okay," she said and hugged me again, "It'll be okay Amelia I promise."
AVAS POV
It's been a week since my mom went to Connecticut. Liam and I haven't said anything about what we found out, but now I'm worried. Mom seems safe, I mean we skype and FaceTime all the time and we text everyday, but I'm worried. What if she can't come back for more months? I'm scared. I knocked on Liam's door and opened it.
"Hey," Liam said.
"Hey," I said.
"You think we should tell dad," Liam said.
"Yeah," I said.
"Okay," Liam said. I grabbed the mini stack of papers with the information we found that night. I walked downstairs with Liam and my dad was on the couch watching TV with Noah and Riley.
"Hey dad can we have a minute?" I asked.
"Sure, Riley, Noah, I'll be right back," dad said. We walked into the kitchen and he sat at the counter.
"What's up?" He said.
"This. This is up," Liam said and put the papers on the counter.
"What? What is this?" He said and looked at the papers, "how did you?"
"Where is mom? Is she okay," I asked.
"How much do you know?" My dad said.
"That she's with a protective attorney," Liam said, "and she's in Connecticut at Aunt Nancy's with Uncle Derek and her sisters."
"Do you two decided to play Nancy Drew and Sherlock Holmes huh?" My dad chuckled.
"Is she coming back? Is she in trouble?" I asked.
"I don't know," my dad said sadly, "All I know is that she can come home once they catch Jeremy Shaffer."
"I miss her," I said, wanting to cry.
"Me too," my dad said and hugged us.
"Are they close to getting him?" Liam asked.
"I don't know, she isn't allowed to say much," my dad sighed, "God I miss her."
AMELIAS POV
I walked downstairs and I needed Owen. I was becoming so miserable. I couldn't sleep anymore, thinking about him and my kids. They were so vulnerable in Seattle, I was so far away. Nancy was at the kitchen table and I wiped my eyes and walked in.
"You alright?" Nancy asked.
"I just miss my family," I said and grabbed a water and sat down.
"God me too," Nancy said. This was probably the only nice conversation we've had in a while.
"I miss my husband," I said quietly.
"Well Jacqueline said this morning they were close," Nancy said.
"Yeah," I said.
"The kids must be so scared, I mean we've been gone for a week," Nancy said.
"I know," I said sadly.
OWENS POV
It was late and I was lying in bed. God I missed Amelia so much. This was so hard. This was insane. My phone rang and I looked over and it was Amelia. I picked it up immediately.
"Hey," I said.
"Hey," she said, I could tell she was crying.
"What's up?" I said.
"I miss you guys," she sniffled.
"I miss you so much," I said.
"But guess what," she said.
"What?" I said.
"They caught him," she said.
"You're coming home?" I said.
"Yes," she said, "I'm at the airport right now." I looked at the clock.
"I'll meet you at the airport at 3am?" I smiled.
"Yes," she said.
"I love you so much," I said.
"I love you too," she said, "hey I gotta get on the plane okay?"
"Okay," I said.
"I'll see you in 6 hours," she said.
AMELIAS POV
We were almost landing in Seattle. I was so excited to see my family. Derek was asleep next to me. I couldn't sleep the whole time because I was anxious and excited.
"Derek," I said and nudged him.
"Mm what?" He said.
"We're landing," I said.
"Okay," he said. The plane landed and any minute we could go through the gate and I would see Owen. It would be over. The doors opened and I smiled at Derek. We walked through the gate and saw Meredith and Owen waiting for us. I bolted over to him and jumped into his arm. He wrapped his arms around me tightly.
"I love you," I said crying.
"I love you too," he cried. We were both crying and we stood there in each other's arms for a while. I looked up at him and he kissed me passionately.
"I missed that," I chuckled.
"Me too," he smiled and kissed me again.
"How were the kids?" I asked.
"They were good, but they miss you so much," he said.
"Can we surprise them that I'm home?" I chuckled.
"Sure," he said.
-
I opened my eyes and I was snuggled into Owen.
"Good morning honey," Owen said softly as he rain his fingers through my hair.
"Good morning," I said.
"I missed this," Owen said.
"Me too, Nancy's beds were not as comfortable as ours," I chuckled. I got up and brushed my teeth and we walked downstairs. I heard some of the kids in the kitchen and I smiled at Owen.
"Good morning," I said as I walked into the kitchen to make coffee.
"Mom?" Olivia smiled and ran over to me.
"You're home!" Logan smiled.
"I am," I chuckled.
