OWENS POV
Today was a crazy day at work. There were a million traumas in the ER today, there must have been a crash or something. I've barely seen Amelia today.
"Hunt!" April yelled, "Trauma 1!"
"Thank you!" I said. I was running over to the trauma room and I heard a crash. I turned to my left and saw a car flying through the ER walls.
AMELIAS POV
I was scrubbing out of a surgery when Meredith, Derek, Maggie and Bailey were waiting for me.
"Uh hi guys," I said. They all stared at me blankly and I got scared.
"Did someone die?" I asked.
"No," Meredith said.
"Can you give us a minute?" Derek asked. They all nodded and left.
"Derek what the hell is going on?" I asked.
"There's been an accident," he said, "in the ER, a car came flying through the wall from the outside, there were a lot of injuries."
"Owen?" I said. He nodded and I felt my heart stop.
"Where is he? Is he okay?" I said.
"He had surgery, but he's in a coma," Derek said.
"HES IN A WHAT? WHEN DID HE HAVE SURGERY? WHY DIDNT YOU GET ME!" I yelled.
"Amelia," he said calmly, "you've been in surgery for hours I promise I've been waiting for you to get out to tell you, I couldn't distract you with this."
"He's in a coma?" I said crying, "HES IN A COMA AND YOU DIDNT TELL ME!"
"Amelia," he said. I felt like I couldn't breathe.
"Derek," I said and my voice was breaking. He pulled me into a hug and I started crying.
"What type of surgery did he have?" I asked.
"We can talk about that later okay?" He said.
"Can I see him?" I said.
"Yeah, come on let's go Amy," he said. He put his arm around me and we walked upstairs. My mind was racing. Owen. In a coma.
"Where are my kids?" I asked.
"Meredith and Maggie are on it," He said.
"Is he going to wake up?" I said.
"We can only hope," he said. He opened the door and I saw Owen in the hospital bed and I felt time stop.
"Owen," I said crying. I ran over and grabbed his hand and kissed it.
"Owen please you have to wake up," I said crying, "you are not allowed to die, you can't. Owen please, I need you, the kids need you, we all need you please Owen." I was crying so much. Derek closed the door and sat down next to me.
"Derek he can't die," I said.
"Amelia it'll be okay," he said.
"How can you say that!" I said crying. He brought me into his arms and kissed my head.
"Have faith," he said.
AVAS POV
My Aunt Meredith texted me and said Liam and I had to get to the hospital ASAP, I was afraid something happened to my parents. I grabbed Liam and we drove over to the hospital where we saw Olivia and Logan and my Aunt Maggie and Meredith with Noah and Riley.
"What is going on?" Logan said.
"Just wait a minute," Maggie said. We walked into the lobby and we all sat down. I could tell by their faces that it was bad. Really bad.
"So um, there was a car that crashed into the hospital this morning, and your dad was in the accident," Maggie said slowly.
"Is he okay?" Liam said.
"He had surgery for a brain bleed and internal bleeding," Meredith said, "he was under a lot of anesthesia because of the surgeries so he hasn't waken up, he's in a coma."
"He's in a coma?" I said, "where's my mom?"
"She is upstairs in his room," Maggie said.
"We need to go see them," logan said.
"Okay," Meredith nodded. We all got in the elevator and we practically sprinted to the room. Liam opened the door and my mom and Derek were sitting next to each other silently. He looked over at us and got up. My mom didn't move. It was so hard to see both of them.
"Hi mom," I said quietly.
"Hi," she said, her voice shaking.
"Can we sit?" Liam said.
"Yeah," she said and wiped her eyes.
"Is he going to be okay?" Riley said. My mom didn't say anything and she looked at the ground.
"I don't know," she said quietly. Riley walked over to her and gave her a hug.
"I love you guys," my mom said.
"We love you too," we said.
DEREKS POV
I did the brain surgery on Owen. Why didn't he wake up? It was a standard procedure, I did everything right. I was sitting in the lobby and I saw Meredith was over to me.
"It's not your fault," she said.
"Why didn't he wake up Meredith? I've done that surgery a million times, it was standard," I said.
"It is not your fault Derek, you did everything you could," she said and kissed my cheek. We had been here for hours. I heard footsteps and I saw Ava and Logan.
"Hey what's up?" I said.
"Can you get our mom to eat something?" Ava said, "we went to the cafeteria and brought her food back and she won't eat, she won't even move."
"Please," Logan said.
"Yeah," I said, "Anyway, visiting hours are over in a few minutes, I'll get her to eat." They nodded and we walked upstairs. I opened Owen's door and everyone was silent. Amelia was sitting in the same chair as before.
"Can you give us a minute?" I asked. The kids left and I sat down next to Amelia.
"Hey," I said.
"Hi," she said.
"Visiting hours are almost over," I said.
"I work here," she said.
"You are a visitor and the hours are almost up," I said.
"I still work here," she said.
"You need to eat," I said.
"I'm fine," she said. I looked at her and it broke my heart.
"Why don't you come back to my house and have dinner and you can get some sleep," I offered.
"And what? Leave Owen?" She said.
"We can come right back after you get some sleep," I said, "I promise."
"No," she said.
"Amy," I said, "please." She looked at me and sighed.
"I have to be here when he wakes up," she said.
"You will, the nurses will call us immediately when he does but you have to sleep and eat," I said.
"I can't leave him," she said.
"Then can you eat cafeteria food please," I begged. She brought her legs into her chest and stayed there. There was a knock on the door and it was Meredith.
"Amelia," she said.
"Can I make you dinner please?" I begged.
"Can we come back after?" She said.
"Yes," I lied to get her to eat. She got up and looked at Owen.
"I love you," she said and held his hand. She looked back at me and hugged me.
"Derek he can't die," She sobbed.
"Shh it'll be okay," I said.
"How can you say that?" She said, "he's in a coma! What if he never wakes up!"
"What if he does?" I said.
